One week until the next PPV. If you'd like to join and have a part in the
PPV, please email spill...@hotmail.com for more information. Always
looking for talented handlers.
==============================

[The ring crew is seen lowering the 15 foot steel cage over the SWP squared
circle. Jean Luc Page enters the arena to watch the event. The camera
catches him walking towards the cage as he begins to speak.]

PAGE: [pacing the ring area and grabbing the steel cage] "Tonight Tuulenux,
we will both be locked into this cage like two animals fighting over a
single piece of meat - the number one contenders slot. Tonight we will throw
one another off this cold steel, bleed, sweat and tear for that number one
slot. Once tonight is over, I will be the number one contender for the SWP
championship come the PPV."

[Page continues to pace the ring area and notices the camera zoomed in on
him. He pauses and flashes a demonic grin into the camera.]

PAGE: [devilish grin] "Hades, enjoy that title for one more week. Come the
PPV, that belt will be mine."

[Page lets out a loud laugh as the camera fades away.]

* * * * *

[The camera is focused on R.J. Sandstrom's stern, serious face. He is at
his desk, leaned forward. There is someone in the chair across the desk
from Sandstrom, but the viewer is unable to see him.]

SANDSTROM: "I'm just saying that there are traditionally two sides in this
business, as I'm sure you're aware. There's the right side and the wrong
side. Someone like Jean-Luc Page, he's on the wrong side. Damian
Ozzbourne? Wrong side again. 'Hardcore' Harlacker-big time wrong side.
The right side? That's me. That could be you. I'm asking you, sir, if you
want to be on the right side. If you do, I can promise rewards. I can
promise advancement. I can promise a lot of good. I just need someone who
I can depend on in times of crisis, and in turn, that person can, rest
assured, depend on me returning the favors."

VOICE: [off camera] "What is it that you need, exactly?"

SANDSTROM: "Jean-Luc Page out of contention for the World Title. I don't
want him to win it. If he loses tonight, you won't have to do much.
However, if he wins tonight, I'll expect you to make it difficult for him
next week."

VOICE: "I can do that."

SANDSTROM: [cracking a wide smile] "Well, m'boy. It seems you understand
the differences between right and wrong. I knew I could depend on you."

[A massive explosion of pyros and sound envelop the Madison Masonic Lodge
Arena as the wild, kinetic drums and guitars of the SWP theme song explode
into action. With each set of riffs, the giant plasmatron screen flashes
different images of SWP action:

An image of Harlacker delivering the Hardcore Death Drop to Oz Walker
Spivey Michaels executes the Spivey Dive through a table
Evan MacEvoy slams Johnny Haaglund to the canvas with earthshaking force
Dorothy bending low in her short, short farmer's daughter dress
Tuulenux takes a baseball bat to the side of the head
Hades flying through the air
Jason Havner and Mike Garvey at the announce table looking scared
Larry Czamura smashing a can of beer on his forehead
Triple J strutting for the crowd
The Harlem Hitman delivers a powerful ax kick to a bent-over opponent
Damian Ozzbourne standing like a statute, staring at the ring
Jean-Luc Page delivering the Canadian Collapse

[A final explosion of pyro at the entrance ramps sends the crowd into a
frenzy, the camera pans around catching signs: "cowboys suck"; "HADES";
"JJJ", a shot of a British Union Jack flag, and a multitude of
green-and-black painted faces and Halloween wigs. A few Canadian flags wave
in the audience and a handful of signs make reference to Damian Ozzbourne.
The camera pans over the announce table where Jason Havner sits sporting the
new SWP Action T-shirt with 'Gorgeous' Mike Garvey sitting next to him
sporting his own T-shirt.]

HAVNER: "We are only ONE WEEK AWAY from the next SWP Pay-Per-View event-
'Wicked Ways' and the excitement is building! Welcome back to the SWP,
ladies and gents, tonight, we fire off the first round of the Midwest Title
Tourney, and then we find out once and for all who the Number One Contender
will be-Jean-Luc Page or Tuulenux? With the winner going on to meet Hades
for the World Title next week!"

GARVEY: "Tuulenux had some pretty strong words for Page last week, and Page
is a man of action. In the cage tonight, the first one to escape will get
his shot at the belt and the man left in the cage will have to hang back and
plot his next maneuver! With the ferocity of these two men, expect someone
to leave bloody."

HAVNER: "With that said, let's just get right into the first match-Johnny
Haaglund meeting Oz Walker in the first match of the eight-man tournament to
decide the next Midwestern Champ!"

[The image of a tornado criss-crosses the plasmatron screen and two letters
appear, "OZ." The high-pitched voices of the munchkin chorus in a singsong
fashion, "We're off to see the wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz!"
The curtains part and Dorothy, long, tall, and brunette clad in a short,
tight, blue-checked gingham skirt. Behind her Oz Walker seemingly glides
out in an emerald green robe and green wizard's hat. He is tall, lean, and
his eyes are a reflective shade of green. He holds his arms to his side and
twirls slowly as he walks down to ringside.]

[The arena lights drop to a cool blue swirl. At once, lights and sound
explode as red pyros blast at the top of the stage and Type O Negative's
"Too Late/Frozen" riffs out of the PA. The plasmatron screen flashes a
dragonboat masthead and tall, red letters: The Viking. The crowd explodes
in approval and Johnny Haaglund strides to the top of the ramp with his arms
in the air. He is in his standard red-and-black tights with Nordic
dragonheads on the sides. He is clean-cut and blonde, with perfect teeth
and chiseled muscles. He strides down the ramp confidently, his eyes on the
ring, his teeth set determinedly.]

GARVEY: "Haaglund has that steely glint in his eye. It seems like he's a
little upset. Let's see what he can do in this match up!"

Time of match: 0:01:45

HAVNER: "Johnny Haaglund wasting no time in getting the pin, basically
devastating Oz Walker. Oz is being helped from the ring by officials now."

GARVEY: "He'll want the license plate number of the truck that just ran him
over, for sure."

HAVNER: "Johnny Haaglund just rolled out of the ring and straight into the
back. No celebration, no joviality. He's just gone."

GARVEY: "Man on a mission, Jason. He's got things to do."

[The opening trumpet blasts of the UW-Madison band's rousing version of "On
Wisconsin" elicit a mixed reaction from the partisan crowd. On one hand,
the beat and the soaring brass make them want to polka in the aisles, a
Madison tradition.on the other hand, seeing "Mighty" Evan MacEvoy and Larry
Czamura waltz out make them want to throw beer cups and popcorn.
MacEvoy walks out in faded Green Bay Packer-logo-spotted Zubaz sweats, an
old pair of red-and-white Nike hi-tops, and a stained, sleeveless
sweatshirt. Czamura, equally stained and raggedy, sports black windbreaker
sweats and a filthy, "wife-beater"-style tank top. Czamura is slogging down
the last of a sloppy slice of pizza while MacEvoy polishes off the last of a
can of "Point" beer. The two wipe their mouths on the back of their hands,
slap a high-five, and leap to the ring apron.]

MacEVOY: [producing a stained, but official-looking paper] "Ladies and
Gentlemen.remember last week, when I said I found our loophole? I will now
share with you exactly what that loophole is.I have, right here, for your
viewing pleasure.an official writ of title made out by some fancy-pants
lawyer.to, the SWP.granting, myself, Mr. MacEvoy, and my compadre, Mr.
Czamura, full and legal rights to the SWP Tag-Team Championship belts!"

[MacEvoy holds the paper triumphantly above his head and the audience sounds
out boos and catcalls. Czamura steps in.]

CZAMURA: "Boo all you want, putzes. But, the fact is, our contracts had a
loophole-we were slated to wrestle for the belts in the first
Pay-Per-View.but, due to a lack of viable teams, we were slated for singles
competition in the rumble. Then, our contract simply states that if the
tag-team belts weren't granted to any team by June 15, approximately two
months after we signed the contracts, we would become the champs by default.
It's all nice and legal.Sandstrom! Get my belt out here now!"

[The opening trumpet part from 'Fanfare for the Common Man' sounds and as
the driving bassline kicks in, R.J. Sandstrom appears from the wrestler's
entrance to a loud applause from the crowd. He sweeps down the ramp and
climbs the steps into the ring. As the music dies down, Sandstrom swipes
the paper from MacEvoy's hands and begins to read it. He reads it over for
a very long time.
While he's reading it, a small man in a dark blue suit traipses down the
ramp with a briefcase. He enters the ring and Sandstrom hands him the piece
of paper. The man pulls out copies of MacEvoy and Czamura's contracts, then
reads the paper the Badger Boys brought to the ring. He whispers into
Sandstrom's ear. The crowd is growing restless and a 'Boring' chant is
started. After what seems like an eternity, Sandstrom raises his hands and
waits for the crowd to quiet down.]

SANDSTROM: ".As much as it pains me to say it.Mr. MacEvoy and Mr. Czamura
are one-hundred percent correct.they are, by default, the new SWP Tag-Team
Champions."

[MacEvoy and Czamura begin an ecstatic celebration in the corner of the
ring, hugging each other and slapping backs. Sandstrom drops the microphone
disgustedly, cursing himself for his contractual oversight, and he stalks
out of the ring. Sandstrom's lawyer, still in the ring, opens his briefcase
and produces two belts. They are gold-plated and shiny, the plates set onto
white leather.
Czamura greedily grabs his and holds it aloft to a loud, arena-wide chorus
of boos. MacEvoy does the same in the opposite corner. Their celebration
continues for several moments before they stalk to the back, triumphant in
their "victory."]

GARVEY: "They didn't even have to work for those belts! They were just
given titles by default? Hardly seems like the manly way to take a title."

HAVNER: "I don't think the Badger Boys will mind, Mike."

* * * * *

[Spivey Michaels is gleefully flipping pages in a glossy British motorcycle
magazine, the kind you have to special order to get in America because
pretty much every picture is an image of a topless woman with a dental-floss
g-string riding her derrière draped over a motorcycle and looking at the
camera lustily.
Mr. William Morris comes out of a dressing room door looking frumpy and
preoccupied. When Spivey catches sight of the
accountant-slash-valet-slash-manager, he beckons him over with a crooked
finger.]

MICHAELS: "Hey mate, let me talk to you."

[Morris points at himself and give Michaels a quizzical look.]

MICHAELS: "Yeah, you. The way I see it, you're the brains of the outfit,
right? You make the deals; make sure ol' Jeremy's career stays on the
straight 'n' narrow, right? You don't even have to agree with me because I
can tell a man of substance when I see him.
"Let me swing it plain and simple for you, mate: I can be a good friend,
or a good enemy. It's all up to you, see?"

[Morris crosses his arms and stares hard at Michaels.]

MICHAELS: "Look, before you say no, why don't you hear me out? Why don't
you have a seat? Go on, sit down. I can't bite you, right? Want some
gin?"

[Morris cautiously slides into an empty folding chair across the table from
Michaels. Michaels pours a martini and puts away his motorcycle magazine.]

MICHAELS: "There you go. See? I knew you were a man of refined substance
and reason. You're probably sitting there thinking to yourself, 'Michaels,
you git, why aren't you preparing for your match with Harlacker?'
"That's a good question, one well worth an answer, so I'll give it to you:
I don't need to prepare for Harlacker. Harlacker needs to prepare for me.
That's all there is to it, right? 'Hardcore' Harlacker is about as
hackneyed as I've ever seen. The only thing truly hardcore about 'Hardcore'
is how he uses his spurs-and brother, it ain't on a horse.
"He has never had to face the Buckingham Brawler, the flyer from the isle,
the aerial assassin. He's just used to taking fat guys and busting them
open with boards. Brother-it'll take finesse to take out Spivey.I'll run
Harlacker around the ring like it was a game of tag, then when he collapses
from being out of shape-Spivey Dive, one-two-three.game over, see? And,
when that game is over, I'll be free to assist.wherever that may be.
"Say.your boy Jeremy is up after me, isn't he? That could be a great
benefit into seeing him into the second round of this tournament, eh? A
friend in the back-someone to make sure The Harlem Hitman doesn't get
too.lucky? What would a friend like that be worth? Priceless, I'd
say-wait-where are you going?"

[Morris pushes away from the table and shoots Michaels a sour look. He
storms off without a word.]

MICHAELS: [looking a little hurt] "Good friend, yes sir.or, a good
enemy.choice seems simple to me."

* * * * *

HAVNER: "Next up on tonight's card is Spivey Michaels meeting a man who
would probably much rather be meeting Tuulenux, 'Hardcore' Harlacker!"

GARVEY: "Harlacker and Tuulenux have some really bad blood between them.I
don't think it will be settled soon. There is serious contempt between
those two men."

HAVNER: "We'll get onto our next match-up shortly, but I'm told we have a
special message from the World Title Holder, Hades!"

* * * * *

[Hades still hasn't adjusted to Southern Wisconsin. The weather is strange
and variable, there is nothing to do and the people are so.friendly. He
tries so hard to make this place his own, just like he did Southern
Wisconsin Pro.
It is nighttime as Hades walks through the forest. It's a full moon. There
are crickets chirping, owls hooting, and wolves howling. Leaves rustle as he
walks slowly through the forest. He grabs branches and snatches them off the
tree with ease.
Hades stops and looks up at the sky. He takes a deep breath and then,
silence. The camera zooms in closer, shining its light on Hades that reveals
that he has the SWP World Champion belt draped across his shoulder. His
black t-shirt has a hole towards the bottom, probably got caught by some
badly placed branch. A black Yankees baseball cap rests low over his head,
covering his eyes and most of his face. He begins to speak.]

HADES: "I'm not going to make excuses. A loss is a loss. You take that in
hand just like the bottle of alcohol you take to wash it away for a little
while. Last week, Jean Luc Page and I lost to Tuulenux and Damian Ozzbourne.
I wasn't the man to be pinned but that doesn't matter. You fight like a man
and you protect your team. This match wasn't for the World Title or any
physical trophy, but the scar will stay, mentally.
"I don't fight with teams. I fight how I live, alone. I won the SWP World
Title by fighting, alone. In two weeks at the PPV, I will defend this title,
alone. I'll leave the tag team wrestling to the Badger Boys from now on,
thank you.
"This week Tuulenux and Jean Luc Page will fight in a #1 contender's match
and a shot at the SWP World Title. Either man I could care less about. Both
men will have to fight hard next week in order to be 'worthy' enough to face
me.
"I look at this whole situation like a dinner table. Tuulenux and Jean Luc
Page are the two hungry children. Yet only one of them will get to feed on
the piece of meat.the SWP World Title. So they work hard, and they compete,
so that one day, they might get a chance to feed on this here meat. But once
they do that they will have to have me, the hard working Father who has
already been feeding on this meat for sometime now.
"The small child can only hope that he has trained hard enough to defeat the
Dad so that he might be able to taste the meat, but the Dad.He has been eati
ng far too long now. He can't let the child eat the food he has worked so
hard for. So they fight, with one, only one becoming the victor.
"But when the fighting is all said and done I will be the one with the
victory. with the meat... and all you will have is an old fashioned beatdown
courtesy Hades.

[Fade to black as the leaves rustle from Hades walking through the forest.]

GARVEY: "And this porridge is too hot."

HAVNER: "Be nice, Mike. The World Champ looks to hold onto his belt, ladies
and gentlemen. Later tonight, we'll get to see who gets to be the first to
try to take it from him!"

[The camera cuts away from the arena suddenly--Triple J stalks his way
through the back hallway of the arena. He is staring at the ground, blue
eyes focused in a quiet determination. He walks briskly, a man on a
mission. A sound snaps him from his trance and he stops. The camera
swivels back to look over Triple J's left shoulder down a dark hallway.
Sitting on an overturned vegetable crate, wiping the sweat from his head
with a towel, Spivey Michaels spots Triple J, cracks a crooked smile, and
raises a hand covered with fingerless shootfighter gloves. He rubs his
fingers and his thumb together and nods slowly.
Triple J shakes his head, quickly refocusing his gaze and he continues his
pace to the ring.]

newcomer Frank Maddox!"

[The lights in the arena suddenly go black. Only the plasmatron screen is
still lit. On the near-black screen, in the lower right hand corner,
letters get lit up like a car's passing headlights: MADDOX.

[Cut in from previous scene.]

Chicago, IL
9:22am

-Frank: WHAT! ARE YOU CRAZY! YOU'RE INSANE!

-Man: No, I'm your agent. And as your agent, I'm entitled to sixty-five
percent of your earnings.

-Frank: HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO LIVE OFF NINETY DOLLARS A WEEK!

[ Swoosh. The camera angle-zooms from black to reveal a heated dispute
between Frank Maddox and somebody whose suit is worth more than anything
Maddox owns. ]

-Man: I'm also letting you sleep in my gym, so you're lucky I'm not
charging you rent. Besides, you should be grateful. If it weren't for my
deep rooted connections in the wrestling industry, a no-name like yourself
would never have been accepted into an organization that doesn't hold their
shows in some kid's backyard.

[Enter a musty gym, the size of a small warehouse. On one side of the gym
are various exercise equipment, all of which are either out of date or
broken entirely. On the other side is a makeshift wrestling ring,
constructed with four metal poles, cheap plywood and desperately worn out
rope. The gym looks as if it hasn't been actively used in over twenty
years. ]

[ Cut over to Frank Maddox and his agent, Tony Soriconi. Tony is sitting at
his desk near the wrestling ring. Frank is standing, furious with his
agent. ]

[When we saw Frank in his video on SWP Action, he was a clean-cut police
officer doing his best to keep the streets safe. That ended. Two years in
the gutter has turned him into an agitated shell of a man. He hasn't shaven
in two weeks, and hasn't had a fresh change of clothes in half that time.
Now days the only thing that motivates him is his endless stream of anger.
Hitting rock bottom can do that to you. Angry at the world and everything
that inhabits it; is this what God intended? Sacrafice yourself to clean
society and by the time you hit 30 you'll be living in an abandoned
warehouse taking orders from some grease ball felon who steals three times
more than what he earns legally.
But maybe this is God's intention. This grease ball felon landed Frank in
an organization that pays him CASH to wrestle, as opposed to food. And with
a little luck, this could be his big break.]

-Tony: Think about it Frank! You saw how I that cut last hit the fans!
Hell, I was even able to sneak you in past the guards so you could bust up a
few faces in the ring! Everybody saw what you did to that Hardcore
Hatdigger chump.

-Frank: SIXTY FIVE PERCENT YOU JACKASS!

-Tony: Get over it! I got some good news for you pal--calm yourself for a
minute.

[ Frank stands still. ]

-Tony: I was able to pull a couple strings with the big guys in Wisconsin.
I got you a spot in the Tournament.

-Frank: You're kidding!

-Tony: Not for a second. There's this guy named Damian or something, I
think Ozzy Osbourne.. no Damian something. Anyway, he got hurt or something.
He's not going to be there. You're going to be up against Cowboy Kirk. He
was in the ring while you were trying to tear Hardiggers ankle off.

-Frank: What do you know about him?

-Tony: (laughs) Not a damn thing.

-Frank: Jesus Christ you ask for sixty five percent and you can't even
figure out what I'm up against.

-Tony: HEY! I'm the one doing all the work in this operation! You know
how much trouble I went through just to get you where you are today!? It
took hours of negotiating to finally come to an agreement!

[Flashback to the first contact between SWP and Tony Suriconi.]

**Ring**Ring**Ring**
Tony: Yeah.
SWP: This is the SWP calling regarding the application of Frank Maddox.
We've booked him for a try-out match.
Tony: Okay thanks bye.
SWP: Wait! Don't you even want to know the date?
Tony: Yeah sure.
SWP: It's on the 13th; he's booked against Scott Douglas. We'll have all
the details mailed to...
Tony: Yeah thanks.
*** Tony hangs up.

[Return to warehouse. ]

-Tony: They didn't even want you for more than one match at first! But I
talked them into a two-year contract!

-Frank: Where is this contract! I'm supposed to sign it, you're full of
sh_t.

-Tony: I already told you, it's back at my place somewhere. Who cares
about that anyway. You need to start training for your big match, champ.

[Frank crosses his arms and smirks. He's settled down a bit within the past
minute. Mood swings are ordinary for him; heavy drinking sometimes gets
people like that. ]

-Frank: I'm not training for a damn wrestling match. I don't have to.

-Tony: This isn't another high school you're booked at. I got you in an
arena on cable access television. You should at least try; otherwise this
guy is going to tear you to shreds.

-Frank: Give me a break. These pro wrestlers are a joke compared to some
of the criminals I've taken out. Remember the last guy you booked me
against?

-Tony: Hey, El Gringo Mexicano was a last minute replacement. You know
that your scheduled opponent didn't show. Besides, they kicked you off the
force over two years ago. You think you're in half the shape you were in
back then? Hell, look at you.

[A moment passes by. Both men look at each other directly in the eyes.
Friction is intense. ]

-Tony: You look god damn pathetic.

[We take a moment to catch a directorial close-up of Frank's eyeballs
directly after this comment was made. It's a world record, white to
bloodshot in less than five seconds. Luckily, Frank's drinking habit hasn't
effected his decision making process. He turns around non-chalant and
approaches the 100-pound punching bag hanging from a lowered section of the
ceiling, on the other side of the room. Without warning he start blazing
punches, bare-fisted at the punching bag, landing close to two power-swings
a second.
The only reason he's not a boxer is because he lost his license. Frank had
a pretty good record going for him, competing in some Chicago-land
tournaments and maintaining a 13-2 record with 12 KOs. One storming Sunday
night ended all of that. He kicked an opponent in the head after the fourth
round. Rat bastard gave him a low blow.]

[The camera returns focus on Tony, who is preparing to leave his
warehouse. ]

-Tony: I'm leaving all the details about your match on my desk, I got some
real business to take care of. I want you in tip-top shape by next week!
If you screw this one up, your career is over, and you'll be back in the
fish factory before you know what hits you.

Frank mutters something under his breath - -"Anything would be better than
this you greasy son of a bitch."

[Tony slams the door. Frank punches the bag. End of scene. ]

HAVNER: "Maddox is a man with a past, and one he's probably anxious to
forget. He had a dramatic entrance last week, coming to the aid of Johnny
Haaglund and I believe that he probably made an enemy in 'Hardcore'
Harlacker."

GARVEY: "That ain't hard to do. However, he will have to get past the
behemoth Kirk Collins if he wants to move to the next round. Collins is
simply massive. Maddox is a flyspeck in comparison. But, if there's one
thing I know for certain: big don't mean squat if you lose your legs."

GARVEY: "Just as well. Once Collins is on his feet, I don't believe Maddox
will want to be anywhere nearby."

HAVNER: "The second-round brackets are now set for next week's pay-per-view:
Haaglund will meet Harlacker, and Maddox will test his submission style
against an aerialist, Triple J!"

GARVEY: "They should be good matches-especially that Haaglund-Harlacker
bout. Those two big men will definitely come out swinging-it should be
back-and-forth. That match will be so close, I won't even call it now."

HAVNER: "With those matches out of the way, ladies and gentlemen, I'd like
to call your attention to the structure being lowered over the ring! A
massive steel cage. This twenty-foot high structure guards the ring and
allows two combatants inside the change to use the steel walls as a weapon.
These matches are often horrific in their brutality!"

GARVEY: "Jean-Luc Page, angry at being ranked number two, and Tuulenux-the
number one contender for the world title-will meet in this steel cage and
slug it out once and for all to see who advances to the World Title match
against Hades next week at 'Wicked Ways.' There are two ways to win. Climb
over the top, twenty-feet in the air, and be the first to touch the mat. Or
climb through the door-which has a tendency of being slammed shut on people'
s noggins."

down here to get your beating!"
