-Dave-
[The camera opens to only a thick, silvery mist. This heavy fog swirls
around, obscuring anything from sight. But, from beyond the thick wall
of
mist, comes a sound. The heavy, staccato like rhythm of footsteps,
pounding
against hard concrete pavement. As the clip-clop cadences continues,
the
swirling, dense fog slowly begins to lift, almost as if afraid to stand
in
opposition to whoever it is that approaches. As the fog departs, a dark
city scene emerges. A skyline, dominated by looming skyscrapers, almost
gothic in their design, dirty streets upon which debris sails along
guided
by a chilling wind, almost in mockery of tumbleweeds in the classic
western
setting. And from this new frontier scene, this dark, gritty urban
wilderness, the source of footsteps, the harbringer of doom, comes more
clearly into focus.]
[The first, and most distinguishing characteristic of this figure is his
height and build. Fully seven feet tall, the figure's well developed
body,
one that appears to have been chiseled from granite, is undeniably
menacing. He is dressed in a tight black t-shirt, the short sleeves
revealing a pair of well muscled arms. He also wears form fitting
leather
pants, and a pair of black leather boots, the toes shod in steel
complete
the ensemble. The figure approaches with his head bowed, until he
stands
directly in front of the camera, and only then does his head raise.]
[Despite the omnipresent darkness, the man wears a pair of silver and
black
mirrored sunglasses, and wears his long, black hair pulled into a severe
pony tail. But the glasses do nothing to lessen the look of intensity,
that barely contained sadistic rage that dwells deep within this man's
heart. A long, angry red scar runs diagonally down his face, and his
nose
is partially crooked, a remnant of a badly healed broken nose. Only
after
all of this has been taken in, does the figure begin to speak.]
AM: In the movie Taxi Driver, the character played by Robert Deniro
says that
one day, a great rain will come to the sprawling cities, a rain that
will
wash away all the filth, that will purify the tainted earth, and that
some
day the darkness will pass, leaving only sunshine, light, and
ultimately,
the good that supposedly lay within every man's soul.
[The figure shakes his head several times, as a small smirk curls the
edges
of his lips.]
AM: The character was right in one thing... a rain will come, in fact,
that
rain has come. But it is not to cleanse the world of its sins. It is a
destructive torrent, a violent force that will bring about eternal
night,
not purification. And that rain has come... heralded by me, by the man
known as Alex Martinez, the Black Knight.
Mark my face well, all of you, for when the nightmares come, I want my
name, my face, because years later, when people ask you why you cower
in
fear now, why you jump at shadows, you will be able to describe the
terror
that I instilled within you accurately.
I am the man that all of you fear, I am the demon that haunts your
dreams,
and I am the monster that shall destroy you. I am the Black Knight…
I am Alex Martinez.
Let my name echo in your memory, for as I have said, it portends the
destruction of any
who stand in my path. I am seven feet tall, three hundred and fifteen
pounds, of sheer rage and destruction. My mission is simple, I seek
only
one thing, to cut a bloody swath through the entire wrestling world,
and
to leave a trail of broken bodies and shattered dreams in my wake.
Make no
mistake, I want what every other wrestler wants, gold, fame, and
prestige,
but these are secondary goals.
Let me explain this to you in another way. Some join this sport for
money,
others for fame, others have childhood dreams of winning a gold belt,
there
am here for only one reason… the sheer pleasure of hearing a man's
bones
snap between my fingers, for the thrill I get when I split a man's head
opening. Winning is good, but there are far better goals. Chaos,
anarchy, and mayhem, these are the elements I bring into the ring with
me.
Fear and pain are what remains within the broken bodies of my
opponents.
Make no doubt, someday, I shall take my place among the so-called
"legends"
of wrestling, I will sit upon the pedestal of "icon" status, this is
inevitable. But my ascension will come only after everyone else has
been
destroyed. I will not be one of many legends, I will be the last man
standing.
[A smirk crosses Martinez's lips once more]
AM: "Black Knight" Alex Martinez… remember the name, because very soon,
the
darkness falls upon this federation, and when it does, you are all
going to
get… BURNED!!!!!!
[Martinez spins around on his heel, and walks from the camera, and with
each step, the silvery fog encroaches once more, until all visibility
has
fled, and the scene fades to black.]

Thanks Jeff, I knew I could count on you :)
Why the Black Knight? The Hotstuff angle was going so well for you. You
even had the catchy phrase. The Black Knight? Also, there was a jobber
in the UEW by the name of Black Knight, if I'm not mistaken.
I'm not trying to put you down, I'm just curios.

Nah... "HOt Stuff" was a big time face, who did the right thing all the
time. I figured "Black Knight" went better with the general sadistic heel
turn. Plus, I did the "HOt Stuff" thing as a tribute to my all time
favorite wrestler (Eddie Gilbert) , but now, in the NWA, they are running a
stable called "Hot Stuff International" (a take off on something Gilbert
did in the UWF... yes I've been a wrestling fan for a long time) and it
just seemed like keeping Martinez "HOt Stuff" was redundant.
And I believe, (Correct me if I'm wrong) Professor Payne once wrestled as
the Black Knight, sometime in 1996-7.
All in all though, the name seems better suited to Martinez's persona in
the UEW.
Note that in the MWF, where he is still a face, he's "Hot Stuff"
heh, there, see you get more than you ever wanted from me :)

Hey, any and all criticism and questions are always welcome
(The scene changes. We are now in a living room area. Magnus Colby... all 6'6
and 300 pounds of him is seated on the couch. He is dressed in black pants,
and a white collared shirt is visible underneath a black sweater. His brown
hair is cut short and well kept.)
Alex Martinez... the Black Knight. Well, to me there is only one 'black
night.' It is that night. The night that I was carted away from ringside. I
have fought in dozens and dozens of matches in my life. One time... just one
time I have been carted away from ringside.
(Magnus seems lost in thought for a moment. For just a moment it is as if
Colby is reliving the pain of that match.)
Alex, so many things happened in that match. I took countless power bombs and
slams... hell, I even took two Fire Bombs... the second on a pile of bricks.
Well... I won't get into the details of the match. You were there... all of
our fans saw it. I will not rehash that black night...
(Magnus seems lost in thought again, but a smile begins to form across his
face.)
Martinez, you talk of a path of broken bodies filled with pain and fear, is
left wherever you go. Alex Martinez... I have been there. I have done that.
(Magnus lets out a short laugh.)
Martinez, I have taken your best shot and I am still here to tell about it.
Sure, I spent a month in a wheel chair afterwards... sure, I have been through
two months of rehab to get back into shape to get in the ring again.
(The look on Colby's face changes. He suddenly grows serious.)
Martinez, I will trade the pain and the suffering that I experienced that
night... that black night. Because in the wake of the fateful evening, I have
now grown. I once thought myself invinceable. And now I know. I can take a
pounding even from the Master of Destruction himself... and live to tell about
it.
Alex Martinez, don't get me wrong... you are the most evil... the most
dangerous man I have ever stepped into the ring with. I lived to tell about it
though... and that brings me peace of mind that all the money in the world
could never bring me.
(The camera starts to fade out.)
Oh and one more thing. Alex... one of these days... one of these days our
paths will cross once more. On that day, I will repay the damage that you did
to me... with interest. You can take that to the bank!!!
(Fade to black.)

That match... dubbed the Ultimate Death Match... Is far from the sort of match
Colby usually likes to get into... but, he rarely backs down from a challenge,
and never from a worthy one... so, I fought it... and am the only man to have
faced Alex Martinez in his brief stay in UEW who has not lost to him.
Hey, that's a funny response...especially based on who it came from
