I assumed the accusation was baseless for two reasons: 1) he offered no
evidence, and 2) how could Carl write such brilliant BS and not be able to
back it up with brilliant products? Oh, never mind, I forgot about Slick
Willy.
But Sizemore (?) has overlooked one thing that naive people forget. It's
called libel, and it's bankrupt many such idiots.
OTOH, libel exists (or is costly) only if fiscal harm is done. Whether it
applies to pisscal harm remains to be seen.

Yeah Stevie, we're all complete idiots. You're the lone ray
of intelligence in this group, but you might want to mellow out
with the unnecessary homophobic slander bucko.

That is what we ALL do here, and two cents is exactly what anything
anyone says here is worth. If you paid more, well sparky, you've been
cheated.
Now about that lovely E-Mail you sent me today...I'm sure the people
at AOL (no offense to other AOL users, but in cases such as this, I
consider it an acronym for "A-holes On Line") are getting as big a

your message to one of AOL's system administrators for ya!
You also might consider a breakfast cereal with less sugar content, or

Well, you got that right at least.
Dan "Kiss your AOL account ...goodbye!" DePardo
Does it? My server is running upwards of 150 posts per day. Miss Jones
would have you believe that's 150 posts of useless information not worth
your time. Maybe 10, possibly 20 percent is garbage, the rest is arguably
useful to someone. I don't have any use for impeller information for a
GP1200 or GSX, but that info may be useful to someone, no?
Miss Jones proved in her article that she knows little to nothing about
Usenet newsgroups. She never once participated here, merely lurked, then
proclaimed that she could get no useful information out of it. Hardly
responsible journalism. If I were a journalism professor, I would have
given her a "D" for her efforts.

mom dresses you funny, >>
Hi Dan!!
It's REALLY ironic you stated "your mom dresses you funny". Let me
explain...
Brett Sizemore called me late yesterday afternoon and proceeded to read me
the riot act. He started the conversation with the opening line..."Is this
Carl Camper?" I replied yes. He said (and I quote) "This is Brett Sizemore
and I want you to know you're a fucking dumb-ass". I calmed him down and
began to talk with him.
We spent about 20 minutes on the phone while I tried to explain to him the
ramifications of his statements. I let him know I was not personally
offended
because it was obvious he doesn't know me or my products, but that his
comments could be interpreted as slander and could lead to legal
implications.
I told Brett I had seen him race (Expert or Novice Sport Class) on the
Florida World Cup and thought he was a very good rider with a very well
prepped machine (NOVI built HX). I also indicated he had the potential to
do very well in
racing, except that his public display of hostility on the net would not
go
over well with the "powers-that-be" that are monitoring the internet. He
stated "what powers-that-be, a group of faggats that can't ride so they
play
on the computer". I replied no, the editors of major mags who will avoid
giving you any coverage in their magazines due to your behavior and the
decision making people at Bombardier who had already called me earlier in
the
day to inform me of the slanderous statements being made by Mr Sizemore
and
that they will bring this to the attention of Bruce Brahms, Sea Doo's
racing
coordinator. His whole disposition changed after he made this realization
and
he apologized for his statements and went on to say, he's never actually
tried any of my products.
Brett was personally offended because he states he was in the car with
Dustin
Farthing when the Victor Sheldon incident took place and I had no business
passing judgement on the incident without personal presence. More than
that,
he was absolutley pissed that anyone would make fun of his clothing and
hairstyle. Appearently, when I made the reference to Dustin Farthing's
cronies "wearing LL Cool "J" denims and Billy Idol haircuts"... I hit the
nail on the head! As it turns out, Brett Sizemore and Dustin Farthing are
best friends. Same age, same size, same friends, same clothes, same
hairstyles, etc. When I made the comment regarding Dustin's friends, I had
no
idea Brett was one of these guys.
I accepted Brett's apology and indicated that a public apology should be
made
on the internet... but not to me. For using the net as a place to wage a
verbal war void of fact and full of malicious intent... that he had
angered
members of the newsgroup. I expected to see a post by Brett on the
newsgroup
today indicating his remorse, but I've not seen it on my server. Frankly,
he
doesn't strike me as a kid that could show remorse.
In another irony, this kid was defending Dustin as a good friend would be
expected to, however during his defense of Dustin's character, he was
verifying my original statements about Dustin, and the impressions of
others
regarding Dustin's demeanor. I tried to explain to Brett that he could
have done so much more for Dustin's image by telling the good points about
his character, as opposed to firing off a barrage of hostile and malicious
insults to myself and others.
Brett Sizemore's response and behavior is almost A-typical of the young
racers I've been exposed to. It is the main reason I've avoided sponsoring
racers. What's funny, is these kids all think they're special and the
world
owes them something. Hell, most hard-core recreational enthusiasts could
outride them, but have more important things to do.
Carl (the snake-oil salesman) Camper @ ULTRAC
Please accept my apologies regarding my conversation and subsequent post
to the newsgroup with Brett Sizemore (posted on 6/11/97). This post was
sent direct to members who participated in the thread (for their eyes
only), but I accidently posted it to the newsgroup.

Not to mention a good whuppin'....he might want to change his race numbers

It could be that he can't post anymore, perhaps AOL reacted faster than I
anticipated...but you're probably right and chances are, he will never "fess up".

Uh, I'd check the "feeble" gauge on your own piddly lump of gray matter
if I were you pal. Rebuttals are great, and encouraged, but slander, E-Mail
abuse, and overall foul mouthed, childish rantings are typically frowned upon.

Uh, oh. Now you've done it. I don't know about Carl, but I'm a Vet,
and not a "Veternarian" either. Wanna see my tattoo?
I really doubt that Carl would stoop to physically threatening your son
Mr. Sizemore. Even if he does dress a little funny.

Do you have any idea how the general public "here" currently views the
antics of you and your son?

Yeah, I'm certain that any and all of the TV programs you've named
give a rodent's behind about PWC parts! Here's an idea, try writing
to PWC magazines with your complaints, or would that make too much
sense? Also, be sure to word your letters in the same manner as the
three E-Mail messages I received today Mr. Sizemore, I really think
you missed your calling as a comedian!
Dan "Lunatic Fringe" DePardo
Please include my comments and the many more positive ones that will
follow in your letter campaign.
Ultrac products have performed exactly as advertised for me. If I have a
problem with anything I bought from Carl he makes it right. He has never
pushed any product on me and has talked me out of buying some of his
product because it would not work in the application I wanted to use it
for. I wish all aftermarket companies operated with the courtesy and
respect I received from Carl Camper and Ultrac.
I raced a stock 96XP last year in region 2. The only modifications were
Ultrac MF Pro grate and Aeroslot sponsons. While my race results are
nothing spectacular, I did manage to make the Western Regional Finals
and I have Carl's products to thank for that!
I find it rather distressing that I am forced into posting into this
rather immature thread, however I feel your unsubstantiated claims need
to be answered. I would much rather be focusing my time on important
matters such as keeping ride areas open and fostering better relations
between pwc owners and the public. Thanks for wasting my time and
demonstrating to the world the maturity(or lack of it) that is generally
associated with pwc operators.
HexMC785 your posts are dooing nothing to discredit Mr. Camper, but
certainly are dooing much to discredit yourself. You should have quit

Hey buddy (I use this anonymous title because you obviously shelter your
real identity), get off it! I'm no defender of Carl Camper, don't know
him but have used his products with results being what was advertised
and in the one case where I was less than happy, Ultrac was only too
happy to make it right. He is also an invaluable contributor to this
newsgroup although often times I don't have the intelligence level to
understand all his hydro-dynamic theories. Point is, we don't need your
foul mouthed nonsense on this group - if you have a problem with Ultrac
that can't be successfully resolved, take it to small claims court and
let an outside party decide. This group isn't for resolving personal
claims against a manufacturer, its for sharing information, ideas,
opinions and, for a great deal of the time, bs about how fast our skies
really go. So lay off, takea chill pill, go explore alt.drugs for some
medication and come back when your interested in participating in a
rational manner (just my opinion, no ones elected me newsgroup police).

I have seen Brett Seizmore at at least two different race locations.
That guy sure can ride the hell out of an HX! Riding his limited-class
HX, he beat all modified-class HXs on at least on of those days. I'm
not going to say everybody has to like B.Seizmore, but I do suspect a
lot of people in this newsgroup can learn a thing or two from him. I'm
sure he knows what works and what doesn't work when it comes the Sea-Doo
HXs.
My opinion (the one I'm entitled to) of the majority of the people who
participate in this newsgroup is that of people who take the gossip &
fluff in the internet too seriously and don't ride/race seriously.
These people are also the first to buy into some of the ABSOLUTE CRAP
offered by the industry rags. These people are very easily influenced
and jump on band wagons when they appear.
Too bad people are putting B.Seizmore, in the I already hate him
category.

Greg, it's nice to think about the good ole' days, but those days are
GONE on USENET. I will post an interesting article I have in one of my
Internet mags, relating to the evolution of newsgroups, when I get the
time. As more and more folks come "online" and jump in from forums such
as AOL , much of the "netiquette" of the past is lost in the transition.
It's simply technological evolution, not an influx of seedy characters
(like me). Before it was hard, it took some practice. Now it's easy. The
only defense against anarchy on the Net is the "self-police" policy and
mindset. Take characters like Hex, give them a chance, reprimand them,
warn them, then turn them in to abuse@whatever. Sooner or later they
will learn how to act on USENET. It may take a few account changes, and
they may inevitably "see the light" and come back "incognito." That's
the beauty of it.The problem with USENET is the illusion of
animosity...people feel free to say whatever they want without fear of
repercussion. We have the tools to hold anyone accountable (Fingers,
pings, etc.) and we need to. We need to accept the fact that contraversy
and natural flatullence (human nature) will be here, and we need to try
our best to excersize self control and self responsibility. Police
ourselves. Just don't let the government jump in and tell us what we can
and can't say on the World Wide Web.

Dear Mr. Sizemore,
I don't know who uses my products. I don't use racers or their
testamonials in our ads to promote our products. I give technical info in
our ads and let the consumer use his own best judgement. We've had many
notable people using our parts, but I never really a good kept track of
them. Here's a few that I can remember....
1) WestCoast and Butch's race teams use our Sea Strainers.
2) Butch's ordered Magna-Flow PRO's and Stingers earlier this year.
3) Fischetti used our skegs.
4) Jeff Preiur used our skegs and sponsons.
5) Bo Dupriest used our Magna-Flow PRO's and Stingers in his last year
racing.
6) Mike Klippenstein (2-time Canadian National Champion) uses all our
stuff.
7) Brad Lockhart (World Slalom Champion, 2-time Canadian Champion) used
me!
8) Lincoln Dilling (Multiple World Cup Champion) uses all our stuff.
9) Rob Strauss (2-time Midwest Tour Champion) uses all of our stuff.
10) Mike McIntosh (2-time Midwest Tour Champion) uses all our stuff.
11) Dale Vrankx (owner of Odyssey, 1991 Canadian Champion) used all our
stuff.
12) Tim McKercher used our stuff.
13) Bruce Mesagno (Multiple World Cup & Watercross Champion) used our
stuff.
14) Attilio Ambrosio (Multiple Venezuelan National Champion) used all our
stuff.
15) Nacho Lazarraga (2-time Spain National Champion) uses all our stuff.
16) Flavio D'livio (Argentine National Champion) uses all our stuff.
17) Rick Mello (2-time Region 3 Grand Champion) uses all of our stuff.
There have been many other regional racers in a variety of classes using
my products, including a few notable people on the newsgroup such as,
Chris Paull, Bruce Holmes, Gregg Cohn, Giovanni Comin and several others
that have been very successful in their racing endeavors.
I have been contacted by most every race team effort at one time or
another (with the exception of those companies making their own
aftermarket parts) for sponsorship, but I have declined. Quite a few
*very* notable and *public* riders have had their feathers ruffled because
I was not interested in sponsoring them, and subsequently have made
attempts to discredit me.
After five years of hard work and development, we have earned the loyalty
and respect of every major Sea Doo dealer in the country. Of the 600 plus
dealers, better than half of them have ordered our products at one time or
another, and a large portion of that number continue to order more
products. I'm in business to make money. And the money is in delivering
sought after products to recreational riders, not "niche one-off, exotic
prototypes" for racers individual and selfish exploits.
The following testamonials would indicate your derrogatory statements
about my products are incorrect. These were testamonials I gathered a
couple of years ago. I've not pursued statements by anybody in the
business or racing in a couple of years because the ULTRAC line of parts
has become widely accepted and there's no need to continue to "hype" the
line. We have all the business we can handle.
** Please note, these testamonials came long before we introduced some of
our most recent and popular products.

"We only sell what we believe in and what works the best!
These products work so well that we have continued to promote
them in our magazine ads. I only wish we had carried them sooner."
GUY ALVA / BERT'S SEA DOO MALL
" I was really impressed when I installed Ultrac's Magna-Flow,
Hidrofin & Stinger on my Sea Doo. Each one of the parts really
works great, but as a combination, it's unbelievable!
MARCIO MAYORGA / R & R JET TECH
" When it comes to bottoms, Ultrac is tops!! These are
the most impressive aftermarket parts I have tested!
LOU MERCADO / RIVA YAMAHA
" The engineering is superior, the quality is unmatched, and the parts
work as advertised!"
DAVID FIORELLI / MECHANICAL ENGINEER
1994 A.P.B.A. MID- AMERICA NOVICE
RUNABOUT MODIFIED SEASON CHAMPION
" When it comes to the performance & handling
of Sea Doo's, it doesn't get any better than Ultrac!"
MARCEL BOYER / MOTO DE LILE / SEA DOO RACE DEPT.
1994 QUEBEC NATIONAL CHAMPIONS
"We were surprized at the number of new components
originating from Ultrac, so we decided to give few of their
products a try. WOW! It was absolutely incredible! After
years of testing every conceivable combination, I was glad
to find someone who really knew what they were doing!"
DALE VRANCKX / ODYSSEY RECREATION
1991 & 1992 CANADIAN NATIONAL CHAMPION
"The increased stability is immediately evident. Chinewalking is
eliminated
and in it's place is a more comfortable and confident ride. The handling
is more predictable allowing very aggressive maneuvers."
JEFF HEMMEL / EDITOR WATERCRAFT WORLD
"What a difference.. the Hidrofin completely changes the handling
characteristics
for the better. The turning radius shrank considerably and cornering was
much more
predictable. We didn't expect to discover this, and we were highly
impressed when we did! The Hyperwing definately does deliver on its
promise of reduced porpoising and improved handling, continuing to
stabilize noticeably with increased speed!"
DAVE KELLY / SR. TECHNICAL EDITOR
PERSONAL WATERCRAFT ILLUSTRATED
" The power of our billet cylinders would be wasted without keeping the
pump hooked up. Ultrac's grate keeps me hooked up in the roughest water
and the hardest turns, without any loss in speed. I've tried all the other
grates, but I use Ultrac's Magna-Flow!
DEAN CARLSON / PRO RIDER SPORT CLASS
OWNER OF ABLE PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS
"We can't keep the Magna-Flow in stock! We've tried to sell top loader
grates, but our customers insist on and are willing to wait on Ultrac's
intake grate. I've never seen anything like it!"
DWIGHT COVELL / OAKDALE CYCLE & MARINE
"Ultrac's Magna-Flow and Hidrofin are number one in sales volume. Very
impressive product line, everything works and they back there stuff 100%!"
BILL MAJSZAK / AL GASKILL'S SEA DOO
"I was skeptical at first, but one ride later convinced me, these
components are
clearly outstanding. I was a die hard top-loader fan until now. We won't
sell
anything else but the Magna-Flow!"
TOM ANSLEY / REGENCY KAWASAKI - SEA DOO
"We made consistent runs of 54.9 mph on a Stalker radar gun with a mildly
modified 94XP. Then we installed the Stinger and boom... instant 55.6 with
a
noticeable increase in acceleration. I ordered six more the following
day."
DELVIS GARI / GABLES MARINE
"These products are winners!. Most impressive product line I've seen in
the watercraft industry" 1993 DealerNews / PowerSports Expo
MALCOMB SMITH / TUCKER ROCKY DISTRIBUTING
"The father of the motorcycle industry"
"We give our customer's a money-back guarantee on Ultrac's components if
they are not satisfied. We don't do that on other manufacturers products.
To date, not a single part returned, only referrals."
SHERYL / JIM'S IMPORT CYCLES
" Ultrac's parts are the best! We've tried all the others, but nothing
else works
as well."
JASON LANGWORTHY / SEA DOO OF FT. LAUDERDALE
"The Hidrofin turns a Waverunner or Sea-Doo into
a Ski-Nautique! The number of maneuvers we pull
in competition would be impossible without the fin.
You won't believe what a difference it makes in handling"
MIKE REINMAN / 2-TIME NATIONAL KNEEBOARD CHAMPION
"The Hidrofin is to watercraft ..what the Doel-Fin is
to boats. A major improvement in handling!"
JACK DOELCHER / INVENTOR OF THE
DOEL-FIN HYDROFOIL FOR OUTBOARDS
"We love Ultrac's parts! Always at the top of our recomended upgrade
list!"
PAUL KOMAI / RICE HONDA OF LA PUENTE
"Ultrac has the only line of aftermarket parts we recommend to our Sea Doo
customers, they're the only parts that really work."
CHUCK / PUEBLO SUZ-SEA DOO
"We install Sea Strainer's on every boat we sell. Frankly, they should
come from
the factory with these filters."
WEST COAST M/C (NAPLES)
"Jet Dynamics is in our backyard, but we sell the Magna-Flow from Ultrac.
It just works better!"
INTERMOUNTAIN MARINE SALES / Pocatello, Idaho
"ULTRAC is the only line we carry! There is no other."
STEFAN DZURKOVICH / SPORT CYCLE SUZ-SEA DOO
"It's amazing that my competitors are still continuing to
use top-loaders, even as I smoke 'em on the course."
ROB STRAUSS / ROB'S CYCLE CARE & SEA DOO

>I am Bretts Father, and am responding to your blatant lies in regard to
your conversation with my son the other day.
If you are Brett's father, how do you know what *actually* transpired in
my conversation with your son.
>I recommended that he call you and explain his position and reasons
>for responding in an agressive manner on the internet.
Did you also tell him to start his opening statement... "is this Carl
Camper? I want you to know you're a f-cking dumb-@$$" ???
> I have read all of every response to FARTHING vsSHELDON that has been
posted, >and it appears to me, that in your feeble mind, your the only one

It seems to me by now that almost any remarks made will be interpreted by
you as derrogatory.
> With all of your warnings about being a formal navy seal, and of huge
physical >stature, and subtle threats, I can only respond that the
veterans home here has
>a huge cemetary.
I'm not surprised you would take these "comments of guidance" out of
context and try to make me look like a bully. Do you think I'm foolish
enough to make threats to a minor? Really, father Sizemore (or is it
son)!!! I indicated that Brett might consider that the hostile and
derrogatory statements he's made to many newsgroup members might come back
to haunt him if he meets any of these people... say at the race sites? I
used my self as an example... I said (and I quote) "if you met me
personally, I doubt you would lash out with this kind of verbal abuse, as
my physical stature would make some people think twice". This was not a
threat. I was trying to find examples (in my feeble mind) of how to relate
your childs actions to him, in a way that I thought he would understand.
>Brett did not say anything that you have represented that he said.
Whatever.
>So much for trying to teach your child to talk their problems out
>with someone, and make an attempt to resolve them, when you turn around
>and continue your bullshit tainted lies, in a futile attempt to paint a

>when you sell your products.
Whatever.

From snake-oil salesman to parasite. I'm really moving up in the world.
>We race for fun, thats exactly why we cannot waste money of our racing
budget on >products that dont work --like yours
Appearently, you've never waisted any money on my products.

You know, you keep bringing this subject up. Which one of my products are
you referring to? And when have I made unsubstantiated claims?
Carl @ ULTRAC
I met you a long time ago and I've been using your products for years.
Keep up the good work. I sent a post to Sizemoor and he responded>>
>> thanks for the info im an ex con who served 14 years in brushy
>> mountain state penn for second degree murder. I was shooting
>> seals when he was swimming in the bathtub
Sounds like a nice guy.

Hi Bill;
Well, here's what Mr. Sizemore himself has written:
> I am Bretts Father, and am responding to
> your blatant lies in regard to your conversation with my son the other
> day. I recommended that he call you and explain his position and reasons
> for responding in an agressive manner on the internet.
According to Mr. Sizemore, it certainly sounds like it was Brett who first
responded in an aggressive manner "here". If what he wrote above is at
all accurate, then they've both been "naughty boys".
I haven't received any new "potty mouth" E-Mail today from the hexm...@aol.com
address, so they're either laying low, or AOL finally pulled the plug on 'em.
*Someone* there was very busy last night however, since I had several new "gems" in
my mailbox this morning...the one I copied to you earlier, arrived here yesterday.
Dan "Takin' out the trash" DePardo
Actually, the animosity is real. The anonimity (sp?) is an illusion.
Yeah, picky SOB, aint I? :-)
I did agree with you, and thought your comments well thought out.
Paul J.
>Too bad people are putting B.Seizmore, in the I already hate him
>category.
Why? Most of us will never benefit from his racing skill. Perhaps if
he contributed with more positive posts on racing tips, tricks, etc we
would all be reading a different thread.
Like Seth, I can say EVERY rider of my 95GTX loves the changes from
the Ultrac grate and stinger. If someone has a similar hull, I highly
recommend these parts for rec rider use.
Yeah . . when he's not smoking something funny or drinking. :D
"Drink My Dust!" Oops . . not gonna happen on my X*2. When do I get
that GSX, son?
Sorry Bruce, I should've elaborated...I think that this whole thread is
indicative of the "dark side" of human nature - and the annonymity of
the internet just seems to magnify it - That is what I got out of
Cindy's article when I read it - I agree with you that alot of good
information comes through these posts - but I for one have radically
diminished my level of posts (some would say that's a good thing)
because I didn't like the way the threads seemed to disintigrate into
pissing matches and testosterone grunts. I just wish we could stay more
civil - but then this is the real world too, huh????
How much do I get to add to your list of testimonials?
Mike Fick
>Hey, Carl -
>I can write. I can't ride yet, but I can write.
Hey Mike!
You can't ride? That's a joke! Your 97XP tops out at 45 mph at your mile
high elevation, so... we don't have to worry about you hanging on to the
blistering speed! Besides, ex-windsurfers are truly the most coordinated
PWC riders I know. Heck, if you can hang on to a surfboard with a sail...
you can ride *ANYTHING*!!!
>How much do I get to add to your list of testimonials?
Come on Mike, nobody's suppose to know about that! OK, OK, we'll pay
$10 for the "Sea Strainer catches more fish" testamonial, and...
$20 for the "ULTRAC decal increased my top speed" testamonial, and...
$30 for the "Liquid Speed enhanced my love life" testamonial, and...
$40 for the "the Hidrofin gave my life new direction" testamonial, and...
the $100 prize is..." the Stinger is a Babe Magnet" !! ;-)))
Carl @ ULTRAC
And maybe if we sharpen our MagnaFlow's scoop's leading edges and place a
net over our nozzles, we got sushi! Of route the sushi through our water
box and we got fish McNuggets!
Mike
>the $100 prize is..." the Stinger is a Babe Magnet" !! ;-)))
Yes, it really is. On Grapevine yesterday it was rematch time. My 95
GTX was about even to slightly slower than a friend's 750 ZXi last
year. This year, with the stinger, it was NO contest. He was so far
behind after only 10 - 15 seconds I had to slow down and let him catch
up. Wonder if the choppier water and his lack of riding for 10 months
had anything to add to it? :D
