I have rebuilt the carb and set the needles to factory settings and still
the same thing happens. So I disconnected the water "over temp" sender and
it still happens. I did this because the "bogging" symptom is very similar
to a reduced spark that happens when the sender goes over temp. A mechanic
has checked the spark and said that he sees a reduced or intermittent spark
when the bogging occurs. He thinks that the over temp sender is to blame but
I disagree because the sender is completely disconnected and the problem
still exists. All wiring inside the electrical box is good, no shorts, etc.
I just installed a new igniter box today and the problem still exists. The
only electrical components left to replace are the coil, regulator and over
temp sender.
MY QUESTIONS:
1) Has anyone ever seen this type of problem before?
2) Does anyone have a known good complete electrical box for sale or that I
could try?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm at a loss.......
Kevin.
I originally thought it was starving for fuel, so I put a restrictor
in the fuel return line. Didn't work. The carb was fine too. So was
my elec box.
The problem actually went away. Not sure why, but it did.
To this day, I think it was the coil. Mine didn't have any type of
temp sensor on it.
