WHERE ARE ALL YOU PENGUIN FANS? I FEEL LIKE I AM THE ONLY ONE HERE WHO
LIKES THEM!! THEIR PERFORMANCE THIS YEAR IS UNPRECEDENTED. CAN ANYONE
DISAGREE WHEN I DECLARE THEY WILL NOT LOSE A SINGLE GAME THIS YEAR!!

Enough of my arrogance... If you had been a Penguin fan, and suffered as
we have, you would be too.

Anyway I was wondering if anyone out there has any fight,(brawl) video-
tapes they would like to sell. I am particularly interested in super-stars
fighting. I mean I could have a whole library of Tie Domi, Rob Ray fights.
So if you have interesting battles...Probert v. Sundin... or something
of that nature, I would love to have a copy.

Yes, anyone can disagree :-). I would, and I like them. I think that
an 84 game season is too long to avoid the team having an off night
(or one of their opponents having a great night) at least once during
the season. They've only gone undefeated for the first 10 games of
the season, which is hardly unprecedented. Perhaps someone with a
good NHL stats or record book can post a partial list of teams that
have done that.

Tie Domi, etc. are super-stars? Well, now I see it. You simply
forgot the smilies on your post. You can't be serious about that.

Uh, yes. It's theoretically possible, but the games haven't all been
complete blowouts. I still feel most of Pittsburgh's wins have come
as a result of Mario and Jaromir lifting the team above potential.
Were one of the two to have an off night or one to be injured, the
outcome of every single game the Pens have played would be drastically
altered. Granted, most teams rely on stronger players such as Messier
or LaFontaine to elevate a team. What I'm saying is if a player is
having an off-night, then the team may not perform to your extremely
high expectations. The Penguins are off to a good start, but that
doesn't mean they're a lock for the Stanley Cup finals.
Oh, and there are plenty of knowledgeable Penguins fans posting here
regularly: Anna and Lori, Eric, and plenty of others.

Hey, I like the Jays. You'll make me regret I gave you directions in
posting articles. :-)

BTW, plenty of other teams have been suffering, too. How do you think
most of the Rangers fans feel, with their team not having won a
Stanley Cup in their lifetime?

Did any of you happen to see the GET THIS on ESPN the other eve??
It stated that so far this season.... as goes Steve Yzerman.... so goes
the Red Wings. They (ESPN), stated that in ALL of the games the Wings have
won this season, Stevie Wonder has scored in every game! And the games
the have lost Mr. Yzerman has been scoreless. I hope that the fate of
the Wings with all of those talented centers, is not soley in the hands
of Steve Yzerman! Don't get me wrong, Steve Yzerman is my favorite player
on the Wings, but he can't do it alone!!!! Come on guys, give Da man Da PUCK!!

Huh??? What news group have you been reading for the last 3 weeks...
r.s.field.hockey? It seems like half of the posts on this board originate
from places like CMU or others in the Pitt. area.

Try being a (former) Ranger fan.

Pittsburgh had a hockey team called the Pirates in 1927?????

Why do I find that hard to believe.

Yep... Second professional hockey team in the United States. (I want
to say that the first was the NY Americians or somesuch)

They played in the old Duquesne Gardens uptown in Pgh. Strangely enough
the largest contingent of Pens fans on the net is about a stones throw
away from where the Gardens used to stand....

The only thing I wonder is, Did they wear Black and Gold before the Bruins
entered the league? :-)

Nah! Hard to believe is a professional basketball team in pgh.

What? You mean the (ABA) Condors, that failed team in a defunct
league? Just imagine, though, if the Pittsburgh hockey team were
still called the Pirates, sort of like Ottawa calling their team the
Senators :-). Then, at the beginning of this season...

Baseball fan: Those Pirates are a bunch of bums and chokers!
Hockey fan: How can you say that, with their undefeated streak still going?
Baseball fan: UNDEFEATED? You must not have been watching the same series I
was! Or have you been smoking that funny stuff again (and
INHALING, Bill)?
Hockey fan: Oh, THOSE Pirates...my condolences!

Nah! Hard to believe is why some many people enjoy such a boring sport as
