Stephan Richer has withdrawn from the Canada Cup giving the following
reason: "It would have been an honor, but I promised my family that I
would spend the entire summer with them". Geesh, yet another Canadian
NHLer with goofed up priorities, eh?

Patrick Roy announced he would not play because his sinuses are bothering
him.

Let's see now. We've got a couple players who opted out for family reasons,
a couple more for personal reasons, several with seemingly minor injuries,
and even some that can't get insurance coverage in case they get hurt. Hey,
so what if they get hurt, this *IS* the Canada Cup isn't it? Let's face it,
it seems as though many players just don't seem to be putting the emphasis
on this exhibition that some of the fans do.

Really? I thought he would have bowed out to play minor league
baseball (yes, he's with the Canadiens baseball club as well, just
another Bo-knows like Peter Zezel ...)

I'm not too surprised with that announcement. Mr. Richer always looks out
for number one.

Actually, he's getting an operation. Maybe the doctors can throw in a free
nose job :-)

Well I personally don't care who plays or doesn't play. I'm not crying in my
cereal. Come to think of it, I wouldn't work for free either right?

Perhaps the reason everyone is bowing out is that they've been scared by
stories about how tough Keenan's coaching is? Wait a second - he coached the
'87 CanCup. Oh well, just a thought.
