I recently heard that Martin Gelinas is now a member of the Vancouver
Canucks, but I heard nothing about a trade. I must have missed
something... Could somebody please post a response as to what it
cost the Canucks to acquire him? Incidentally, he's done quite well
in the last couple of games (his first with the K-heads?) Playing
with Bure, I think.

Thanks,

Last week Quebec placed Gelinas and Kerry Huffman on waivers. Gelinas was
claimed by Vancouver and Huffman was claimed by Ottawa I think.

Martin Gelinas was picked up after Quebec tried to pass him through waivers so
they could send him down to the minors. They also lost Kerry Huffman (part of
the Lindros deal) when Ottawa plucked him off the same waiver wire. Seems both
were in Pages badbooks and were expendable. It does however, seem strange that
they didnt try and trade them for at least some draft picks.

This is like Jeopardy. I've got the question! Who did the Kings trade
along with money and draft picks for Wayne Gretzky, Marty McSorely, and
Mike Krushelnyski?

That's right! Jimmy Carson and Martin Gelinas. Funny. These two must
be karmically connected.

If I remeber right, I think that Gelinas scored two goals in the 3-1 victory
over L.A. last night... Just thought I'd throw that in.
