You are overlooking Al MacInnis. He certainly deserves to be on that list more
than Paul Coffey does. I might even put him ahead of Brian Leetch as well
because Leetch can't play a lick of defence whereas MacInnis is competant if not
outstanding.

>Calder Trophy (Rookie): Alexei Yashin

German Titov is ineligible to win because he is too old (28). Even if he was
ten years younger, I wouldn't take him over Yashin. Philly fans can say what
they want about Renberg, but when you consider the talent that Renberg is
playing with compared to what Yashin is playing with, there's just no contest
IMO. Yashin has more points in less games on a far worse team. Yashin might
even be the Senators' MVP....

I agree that Al MacInnis is a better defenseman than Coffey (hell, who isn't),
but for you to say that Leetch can't play a lick of defense is nonsense.
Maybe he couldn't a few years ago, but he has improved his defensive game
*immensely* and is now (IMO) one of the best defensive defensemen in the
game today.

BTW, MacInnis was rated at one point as having the hardest shot in hockey,
was he not?
