All I have to say is one name-BURE! Without a doubt the best goal scorer in
the league this year and many years to come. Yes I know he has been in a bit of
a slump the past 15 games or so but so has Gretzky. The point I am trying to
make is that all good players do slump at times. The Canucks have so much depth
and have great potential to go all the way. Goaltending is not a problem,
team defense will pick up with the return of Babych and Lumme, and the offense
is never lacking. Pat Quinn is a genius behind the bench and has a lot of
playoff experience and would love to see a few more banners in the empty
roof of the Coliseum. Go Canucks go!

I think the Canucks need a front-line center...which could be Nedved in
another year, or they need to obtain someone. They are are still a year
away I think, unless the top contenders like Chicago and Pittsburgh (or
Detroit and Montreal stumble). I think Dave King is smart enough to
take his rag-tag crew, even without Roberts, and give the Canucks a
massive headache this year...King will shut down Bure, and unless Linden
and Sandlak really bang like they have never banged before, and Nedved
takes another step up...the Canucks might now even get out of the
Smythe.

I think it could be a really tough fight to get out of the
division. I also think that Winnipeg could prove tough too - they are
streaky as hell, but if the streak is on the hot side for those 6-7
games when you have to play them, it could be bad news. As for the
Canucks, I think they have everything they need up front (with Adams
back), and in goal, but could maybe use one really dominant
blue-liner. The guys they have there are mostly pretty competent, but
none of them seem to be able to really take control. How about
Plavsic and Dixon Ward for Dave Manson? Something for both teams in
that one...--

It well be EASY for the CAnucks to get out of the smythe. They can
smoke Winnepeg anyday, pound calgary to the boards and laugh at the wimpy
little kings. The oilers won't make the playoffs and they're the only threat
to the Canucks in the playoffs.

The Canucks should win the Smyth with ease! Edmonton is really the only team
that worries me as they play a style of hockey that the Canucks have never
really adjusted to successfully. Calgary isn't the dominant force that they
have been in the past and L.A. is playing like Ottawa and San Jose for the
past 25 games or so. However, getting out of the Campbell Conference will
be quite a challenge as Chicago and Detroit are pretty solid teams. If
Linden and Sandlak play their grinding, enthusiastic style and Bure
and Ronning set up the plays, the Canucks should have a great chance to
defeat the Norris Division winner. McLean is a standout between the pipes
and Whitmore is a pretty capable back-up. I'm just waiting to be in the
streets for the Stanley Cup parade in Vancouver!

Wow. Someone who is NOT a Penguins fan has the NERVE to be a cheerleader!

How will the Boston fans explain this? ;-)

It really amazes me all these ill-informed and completely out to lunch people
who continually post this crap. How about justifying some of what you say?
Has that ever occured to you? Or perhaps you can't?

When Calgary and Vancouver play each other they really go at it. There is a
great riverally between them and the games are usually very entertaining.
Hardly a pounding to the boards that you so pompously claim. Get a reality
check is my advice to you. Calgary still has a serious chance at first place
and the next few games agains the Canucks will probably decide it. I'll be
anxoiously awaiting the Vancouver vs. Calgary game tommorow.

Till then.

Stopped taking your prescriptions, did you?

Vancouver is 0-3-1 against Calgary this year and has been outmuscled in every
single game. Hell, Calgary outhit Vancouver last Sunday even without Gary
Roberts.

I'm not sure what causes you to think that the Canucks can outhit the Flames.
They haven't done it yet....

No, the Flames aren't the dominant force they were four years ago, but they're
three points behind Vancouver and unbeaten in four against the Canucks this
year. Not exactly pushovers.

The parade will wind through the downtown core and end up at Olympic Plaza.
It won't quite make it to Vancouver.... :-)
