I wonder who are inducted to the NHL Hall of Fame this year. I must
missed the news about it, I think. Thank you very much in advance! :)

NHL President Gil Stein was one of four individuals elected to the
Hockey Hall of Fame Builder's category. The others were Buffalo Sabres'
Chairman of the Board and President Seymour Knox III, Vancouver Canucks'
Chairman Frank Griffiths and veteran Canadian hockey executive Fred
Page. Former NHL linesman John D'Amico was selected in the Hall of
Fame's Referee-Linesman category.

I was at the Hall on Tuesday (hey, two hours to kill in downtown Toronto,
where would you go?). It seemed to me that there are too many "builders"
in the Hall. Maybe I'm just not respectful enough of these people but the Gil
Stein thing ticked me off. One way of getting around it in my opinion would
be to have a Players' Wall and a Builders' Wall. The officials could have
their own bit too. As it is, it seems that you get in for being a builder
once you've owned a team long enough even if you don't contribute anything
special to the game. If you're going to do that, start putting in some
players who played hard for a long time without any great skill other than
consistent, honest effort --- good, Glennie and Marsh will be in the Hall soon.

As far as I know, no players have been selected to be inducted into the
Hall of Fame this year. At least, no announcement has been made. I would
think that if they were going to induct some players, they would have done
it by now.

Well, I just heard on a local t.v. station that Guy Lapointe and Steve Shutt
were inducted into the Hall today. I don't know if there were others - they
just mentioned the two.

Billy Smith (Great Islanders goaltender) was also inducted....I don't
