That is all
rich
Heh, my information on Housely is a few years out of date now (ever
since he got traded fom Buffalo), but that bit about "without that
much defense to boot" really sounds familiar. Oh boy oh boy does
that sound familiar.

Phil is a victim of bad timing ... the Rangers need a big defensive
defenceman who can skate, besides Jeff Beukeboom (Jay Wells has been
hurt and getting long in the tooth); they could have gotten Housley
after Leetch's injury, but at too high a price ... now with Keenan
on board, Phil won't be moving to the metro NY area any time soon.
Plus, a new generation of young players with offensive skills to
match Housley are coming online at a lower price ... his only hope
from becoming a footnote in hockey history is to lead the Jets to
a division/conference/league title ... being in the Norris might
be the break that the Jets need; worry about the Red Wings and
the Maple Leafs (if they don't collapse), write off the Stars,
Black Hawks and Blues (in 6 months, their fans will be able to
find Winnipeg on their maps! (-;).
