On Tuesday, the Mighty Ducks traded a third-round pick
in the 1994 entry draft to the Montreal Canadiens for
right wing Todd Ewen and Swedish rookie center/left wing
Patrik Carnback. Ewen, age 27, at 6-2 and 220 pounds,
is another big forward expected to provide some
muscle on the front lines. Carnback, age 25,
6-0, 189 lbs., was the leading scorer in the Swedish
Elite League before being drafted by the Montreal
Canadiens.
Other news . . .
The Ducks have reached an agreement with the San Diego
Gulls (IHL) to be their minor league affiliate.
By this weekend, Kariya is supposed to let the Ducks
know whether he will be playing this season (after the
Olympics), or whether he will be returning to school
for his sophomore year (besides playing in the Olympics).
(Sorry for the "minimalistic" posts -- but due to
our shared account, I have had difficulty getting
any time on the net -- so if anyone
wants more details, please e-mail me and I will
be happy to respond!)
