Go Big Red (Cornell that is)
Nope. And the last name of Harvard's Roy is pronounced like it looks, as
opposed to Montreal's "ruh-AH".

Well, not to quibble, but a francophone would say that Patrick's name is
pronounced as it's spelled, whereas the other fellow uses some obscure
anglo pronounciation :-) (The name "Roy" came into English from French.)
I should mention that while "ruh-AH" is close to how "Roy" is pronounced
in French, it is said quickly, as if it's only one syllable.

Actually, Allain Roy pronounces his last name the same way Patrick
does (which was approximated as "ruh-AH"). The way it looks, if you
are French, or, as he is, French Canadian... As to whether or not he
is related to Patrick, Je ne sais pas.

I think it may actually be pronounced the same way, Rob. I've
heard it both ways (as in, rhymes with "boy" - the English version,
and "what" minus the "t" - the French version) when referring to
Allain, from writers and radio guys alike. BUT, I was listening
to a Harvard game on the radio a while back and I seem to remember
that they pronounced it the French-Canadian way, and those should
be the guys who would know.
That "ruh-AH" is some kind of destruction of the correct way to
pronounce it, done by (who else) the English broadcasters.
Either way, there is indeed no relation between the two dufflebags.
By the way, since I haven't seen it mentioned on r.s.h. yet,
Harvard coach Bill Cleary will step down at the end of this season
to become the new A.D. at Harvard. His assistant, Ronn Tomassoni,
an RPI grad, has the inside track on getting the head job.

I find that extrememly ... I can't find the word... (maybe strange,
doubtful, )... I don't want to imply anything, but I've watched
and listened to many games in french (about 50% of the Habs games I
watch are on the french-speaking channels) and I've never heard that.
