No hitting. Big difference. Big big difference.

I have watched several of these games in person. No hitting <> no
contact. Some of these girls are GOOD. The US and Canada have
sufficient skill level for an Olympic level team, and the Finns and
Russians aren't too many levels behind. But other than that, the world
wide depth isn't there yet.

I suspect it was made an Olympic sport out of "gender equality political
correctness". In another 10 years the level of other teams will be up
enough to make it more than a 2 horse race.

I hope, for your sake, that Karyn Bye doesn't beat the snot out
of you for calling her a 30-year-old ''girl''. ;-)

You haven't provided a reason as to *why* it's too early.

I find women's hockey highly entertaining. No hitting != no contact.

Heh, I remember my dear, sweet girlfriend lacing them up to play in a
women's hockey league. I drove down with her to Colorado Springs to see
her in her first game, thinking that this nonviolent lass would get eaten
alive playing defense. It was also the first women's hockey game I'd ever
seen.

Damn. She was nasty out there on the ice. She wasn't hitting per se, but
she was coming damn close. Lots of contact. I think they were scared of
her out there. She lead all players in PIM. Someone broke their leg in
that game.

No hitting does *not* mean non-contact.

Afterwards I was alternately frightened and aroused. :) I had no idea she
had that in her. On the other hand, I had no idea she had that in her. Ya
know?

That's normal for the new sport; it's usually something the host nation
is good at. If the UK ever get to host it again it will be olympic
lager-drinking! ;-P

Probably not but the worst thing for the sport would be removal from the
Games until there was more depth. This would only make things worse.

Not right now. After one year the ban is lifted away for Myllylä, Isometsä
and Kirvesniemi to dominate. Elofsson is just another loser in the endless
row of Swedish skiiers. A couple of days back the bedouine said about the
following: "I don't say Veerpalu is using nasty drugs to boost his efforts.
I just say he runs bloody fast"). However, Finland dominates in one of the
most valiant art of all sports, namely in rallying.

Naturally they do all the necessary preparations to come back victorious.

"Naturally"

Markku, your sense of irony is either highly developed or incredibly poor.

I don't recall the Japanese having a strong women's hockey team in Nagano,
when it was introduced.
