A well deserved win for this Norwegian team that played well both against
Czech republic, Finland and USA. Erik Kristiansen with third period
shorthanded and empty net goals decided this game.

I watched the third period of this game and it was an exciting one. To
quote Eurosport's commentators "These teams are playing just like they
were in the final."

Marius Rath equalized the score, as he snapped a wrist shot when there was
traffic in front and French goalie Ylonen didn't stand a chance. Erik
Kristiansen then scored a beautiful short handed goal. He got the puck
in neutral zone, put on some good moves and deked two French defenseman
-albeit one of them had lost the stick- and also deked Ylonen as he went
to the forehand side and put the puck in the net. The Eurosport commentators
once again became ecstatic "Look at Kristiansen, he thinks that he's
Gretzky!" The French came back though, put on a lot of pressure in
a power play situation, I think. A shot from the blue line was saved by
Norwegian goalie Rob Schistad, but big guy Pajonkowski scored on the
rebound. The French had to win the game, though, since their goal
difference was worse than the Norwegians, thus a tie just wouldn't be
enough, so the French pulled the goalie, but Kristiansen was yet again
out there to complete the hat trick.
