You forgot about the other half of the great Probert bout last year - Marty

Eddie Shore 12-12-33 almost killed Ace Bailey with a devastating hit that sent
him flying. I think he had a spinal injury. The Bailey's teammate Red Horner
landed an uppercut on Shore's chin. Shore fell backward and hit his head on the
ice. The ice was stained red almost immediatly by Shore's blood. The fight only
lasted a few seconds. This was considered to be Hockey's worst fight. Just
thought that this would be an interesting story for you. Peace, Kelly

This guy is a clown act.

Gino Odjick

Why didn't he play in the finals against the Rangers ? Wasn't his injury
healed ? Antoski backed down from Kocur every time.

My nominee for goon rookie-of-the-year is Darren Langdon of the Rangers.
He concluded a pre-season of pounding the opposition by bloodying Brett
Lindros of the Islanders. Lindros had the advantage early in the bout, but
Langdon hung tough and by using a fierce series of left-right
counterpunches scored a TKO.

You forgot the only guy to beat Probert last season and the current
holder of the heavyweight title - Sandy McCarthy of the Flames.

Primeau - he's not going to be doing too much fighting, now that he's
started scoring. Clark can beat up on middleweights, but he get killed
by the big boys.

Watch out for the Kings second round pick Matt Johnson. I heard he
had a decent camp but where is he now?
I am praying they send him back to the Petes so I can have one more
year of watching him KO everyone. The guy is the best fighter I have
seen at the OHL level and I am positive he can make the NHL.
19 years old, 225 lbs and 6'5.
Definitely a future heavy weight.

I DISAGREE WITH SOME OF THE CHOICES PEOPLE HAVE MADE:
WENDEL CLARK--HE'S TOUGH, BUT NOT ONE OF THE BEST
KOCUR--NOT NEARLY AS TOUGH AS HE WAS ON DETROIT
ROB RAY--OVERRATED AS A FIGHTER, LOSES OFTEN
MIKE HARTMAN--WHEN HE WAS A ROOKIE(ON BUFFALO, ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO)
HE FOUGHT EVERYBODY. NOW HE IS ALMOST OBSOLETE
BOB PROBERT--I LIKE HIM, BUT HE HASN'T BEEN FARING TOO WELL IN FIGHTS
THE PAST FEW SEASONS

TOP TEN FIGHTERS IN THE NHL:

1. TODD EWEN--MIGHTY DUCKS: ASSISTANT CAPTAIN ON THE DUCKS; FIGHTS
EVERYBODY, USED TO HURT PEOPLE WHEN HE WAS ON
MONTREAL; CALLED "THE ANIMAL" EVER SINCE HE WENT
TO THE DUCKS

2. STU GRIMSON--DUCKS: ALSO AN ASSISTANT CAPTAIN, THE "GRIM
REAPER" IS ONE TOUGH SON OF A BITCH.
HE GOT HIS NICKNAME IN CHICAGO, WHERE
HE WAS A GOD.

3. RONNIE STERN--CALGARY: STERN IS A BIG DUDE WHO IS
SO AGGRAVATING ON THE ICE, WHICH
RESULTS IN SO MANY FIGHTS. LED THE
FLAMES IN PENALTY MINUTES LAST COUPLE
OF YEARS. VERY TOUGH; ALSO KILLS
PENALTIES VERY WELL

4. RANDY MCKAY--NEW JERSEY: LOVES TO FIGHT. HATES HOLDING ON
AND GRABBING--JUST FIRES AWAY, MAKING
HIM ONE OF THE BEST

5. SHANE CHURLA--DALLAS: SECOND IN PENALTY MINUTES BEHIND
PIECE OF SHIT TIE DOMI. HE HAD ABOUT
18 LESS MINUTES, BUT HAD ABOUT 12 LESS
GAMES. VERY BIG, VERY TOUGH, AND FIGHTS
EVERYBODY. ALSO A DECENT PLAYER, AND ACTS
AS CAPTAIN WHEN MARK TINORDI IS HURT.

6. CRAIG BERUBE--WASHINGTON: WAS NASTY AS A ROOKIE IN PHILADELPHIA,
THEN KILLED EVERYBODY WHEN HE WENT TO CALGARY.
NOW, IN WASHINGTON, HE IS THEIR ONLY TRUE
FIGHTER, AND HE DOES A SICK JOB AT IT.

7. JAMIE HUSCROFT--BOSTON: WAS ON NEW JERSEY A FEW YEARS AGO. BROUGHT
UP TO BOSTON FROM THE MINORS IN JANUARY--PLAYED
ABOUT 40 GAMES, AND HAD 144 PIMS. FOUGHT ALL THE
PREMIER FIGHTERS IN HIS FIVE MONTHS UP, AND DID
VERY WELL. NOT TOO KNOWN, BUT HE WILL BE.

8. KELLY CHASE--ST. LOUIS: SHOWS THAT SIZE ISN"T EVERYTHING. ONLY
ABOUT 5'8" BUT HOLDS HIS OWN AGAINST EVERYBODY.
FIGHTS ALL THE TIME, AND ALWAYS SEEMS PISSED OFF

9. GINO ODJICK--VANCOUVER: OUT OF CONTROL AT TIMES, KNOWN FOR GOING
AFTER EVERYBODY ON THE ICE. JUST GOT SUSPENDED
FOR LEAVING THE BENCH TO JOIN BRAWL. VERY TOUGH,
PLAYS ON BURE'S LINE SOMETIMES. ALSO HAD 16 GOALS
LAST YEAR.

10. WARREN RYCHEL--LA: FIGHTS EVERYBODY, AND ALL THE TIME. LED LEAGUE
IN FIGHTING MAJORS LAST YEAR. HE IS SMALL, BUT
VERY TOUGH.

OTHERS NOT TO BE FORGOTTEN:

SANDY MCCARTHY: ROOKIE LAST YEAR, BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF PROBERT
CAM RUSSELL: CHICAGO
MIKE PELUSO: NJ
ENRICO CICCONE: TAMPA
MICK VUKOTA
SHAWN ANTOSKI
KEN BAUMGARTER
TONY TWIST
BASIL MCCRAE
DARREN MCCARTY
PAUL KRUSE
TROY CROWDER
JEFF ODGERS
KRIS KING
DAVE MANSON
DARIN KIMBLE
ALAN MAY
BILL HUARD
GARY ROBERTS
CAM NEELY
MARC POTVIN
MARTY MCSORLEY
BRAD MAY
NICK KYPREOS
JIM MCKENZIE
MARK JANSENNS

Have you ever seen Darin McCarty fight? He beat up Can Russell, Marty
McSoreley, and many others.

Those two guys should be included on every list of best current fighters.

Here is my list:

1. Dave Brown
2. Darin McCarty
3. Gino Odjick
4. Mike Peluso
5. Shawn Antoski

If anybody has any comments, feel free to write to my mail account, not

Cherry would say, "Let's throw em like twon good guys!"

With the exception of maybe Probert, the other guys are nothing more than
goons. At least McSorley can put up some numbers. I know this thread is
about "the best fighters", but McSorley is much more than just a punching
bag. He plays tough D with the occasional stint on wing and does beat the
hell out of more poeple than beat him. So there.
