Kings - Red Wings pull off trade!

The Kings and the Detroit Red Wings pulled the trigger on a 3 for 3 player
deal today.
The Kings are sending to Detroit:
31 year old Defenseman Paul Coffey
23 year old Right Wing Jim Hiller
24 year old Left Wing Sylvain Couturier (Phoenix)
The Red Wings are sending to LA:
24 year old Center Jimmy Carson
25 year old Center Gary Shuchuk (Adirondick)
Right Wing Mark Potvan (Adirondick)
Carson, a 7 year pro, was the Kings first round pick, and second overall in the
1986 entry draft. In his rookie season with the Kings, Carson scored 37 goals
and 79 pts. His second year with the Kings he scored 55 goals and 107 points
before he was traded to Edmonton in 1988 in the Gretzky trade. He has 25 goals
and 55 points so far this season.
Shuchuk, a 3rd year pro, has 24 goals and 77 points in 47 games with Adirondick
of the AHL. He played for Barry Melrose last year in Adirondick.
Potvan has 20 points and 109 penalty minutes in 37 games with Adirondick of the
AHL. He played for Barry Melrose last year in Adirondick.
