Hi Chris:

I lost alot of respect when Wendel Clark gave him that wicked shiner
that year in the playoffs (93?).

Adam.

If you think Sandy McCarthy is the toughest guy in the NHL then
the league is full of wimps. Are you forgeting a man of about 6 foot 4
named Chris Simon. Really, then you have to look at people like Tie Domi
who I have never seen bleed. So Sandy McCarthy being the tougest I feel
is totally wrong.

Yeah Chris Simon is pretty tough, but I still think him and McCarthy
are pretty equal. Tie doesn't bleed because he has a 3inch thick
cranium, but that doesn't make him the toughest. I have seen Chris
Simon handle him pretty well on occasion.

Again this is just my opinion...

I was at the game that Sandy McCarthy & Chris Simon fought 2 seasons
ago.
McCarthy broke Simon's nose in that one.

Now the Avalanche have a new enforcer - Francios Leroux - formerly of
Pittsburgh. Leroux & McCarthy fought this week and McCarthy looked to
me to still be at the top of my list. I've never seen McCarthy fight
Twist, so I'm not sure of the two who is tougher.

I've seen Simon pummel Domi - it wasn't close.

My top three are: McCarthy, Twist (by reputation), & Simon. An
honorable
mention goes to Stu Grimson.

What about Tie Domi? He's a pretty good fighter himself....or Paul Laus
is still a fighter.--

Never bleeding isn't necessarily the sign of toughness. However, I do
agree that POUND for POUND, Domi takes the cake. Heck, he gives up how
many pounds everytime he fights?

I'll still put my money on Stu "The Grim Reaper" Grimson. Tough, a good
head for the game, and style.

Has anyone noticed that Ken Baumgartner seems to have suffered
permanent brain damage from his NHL fights. Next time he plays, watch
his eyes! They are continuously fluttering and blinking like he has a
major disorder!

There is Chris Simon (Capitals) and a few in Buffalo that I don't
remember, but Sandy McCarthy is one of the best. That Calgary
lineup looks tough! Not only McCarthy, but Simpson, Peluso, Dingman,
Stern, Begin...

I wouldn't be surprised. He might be getting punchy like a boxer. You
can't let your head be a punching bag for all those years without it doing
something. At least he can still play "smart" hockey.

My vote would have to be a tie between Kelly Chase and Tony Twist. Course,
I am a one-sided Blues fan, but that hardly invalidates my opinion.

yeah twist is probably the heavyweight champ, but he definately can't play and
no one wants to fight him because he has done steroids and gotten so big, when
probert was in his prime , and when dave brown was in his prime, twist could
never compare to any of these guys! they were so much better than twist, and
twist is an ego maniac!

I saw Donald Brashear kick McSorley's butt royally. He gets my vote.
Donny's a way better hockey player, too.

Don't know when it started, but he twitched and contorted his face the
whole time he was with the Leafs too. Always thought he had a contact
lens problem. He blinks about 20 times more than the average person.
But if you look hard, you'll notice lots of players with weird habits or
ticks.

Kelly Chase? How can a guy with the name Kelly be a heavyweight champ?

Kelly Chase is a wimp compared to HUNDREDS of guys in the NHL

Last year, when he was in Toronto, he got smoked by Dody Wood and his
eyes were spinning back into his head like a slot machine.

I see, well what kind of evidence do you have that the 'Twister' does
steroids?

Chronic back acne?
Giant-like growth?
Liver Disease?
Ball shrinkage?
Hair loss?

Is he another John Kordic?
