I am not looking for exact figures but a rough idea.
Thanks

Hmmmm....
Do you mean overall or just say for internationals?
Either way it HAS to be less than people think!
Mostly one would say a Short Corner should be a goal everytime (in the bar!)
But then you may decide that 50% is an average conversion rate, however
I am going to hang my hat on 1 in 4 as a "realistic" rate from my experiance.

Menno> 2. Argentina 4/34 (11.8%)
Menno> 3. USA 5/26 (19.2%)
Menno> 4. Germany 2/55 (3.6%)
Menno> 5. Korea 3/34 (8.8%)
Menno> 6. Netherlands 1/34 (2.9%)
Menno> Any comments on these figures?
I've noticed that the Americans seem to be good at set plays. The
varsity field hockey team here spends a vast amount of time practicing
PCs, and other popular American sports, especially American football,
are just one set play after another. These figures seem to back my
theory up - the USA PC percentage is _much_ higher than the other
teams in the list, despite the other big names. Hmmm, makes me wonder
whether the US mens team will do surprisingly well come Atlanta if
they can convert 25% or more of their PCs.

Dear Reg's Chris
Would the 1 in 4 you estimate be on a grass field turf field or a
combination of both in your experience?

Surprising, as it may be (if I am not wrong), is the fact that 2 of
the 3 goals scored by the US in the Atlanta Challenge Cup were scored by
number 12 Steve Danielson on a set play from a short corner with a high
flick.
