Does anyone play with Talon composite hockey sticks? If so, I'd really
love some feedback on what you think of them. The common 2 models in the
US are Grays/CranBarry and STX and I don't particularly like their
composites. I was almost ready to buy the TK Comp 2, but then I saw a
post for Talon's website and I took a look. They look very nice, but
personal opinions on them would be great. Thanks in advance.

I've used one....... nowhere near the feel of the TK/Grays/Dita or Mercian
composites.....the head was thick as was the handle. It did hit the ball
well but that's about all I can say in its favour.

BTW....until recently, Grays/TK/Mercian/Dita were all made at the same
factory although I understand that Grays and TK have some exclusive deal
for the future.

I know that Talon has its own Factory and is designed in Australia.

From a old catalogue that I have the Cannon or C3 was a heavy stick designed
for Fullbacks and penalty corner hitting. I've seen the results that show
the T300/T600 was the 2nd hardest hitting composite stick in the world ( the
T3000/T6000 was the hardest hitting and lighter stick).

I've used a T500 for about 8 years, which is the same as the T300/T600 only
with a larger hitting / trapping area. I play centre half / left half/
fullback. It's great for back stick trapping/hitting. Over the years the
Talon Sticks have come with different grips, some have been thicker than
others, depends on the player feel I suppose. I like the thicker grip. The
T300/T500/T600 are a lot lighter than the Cannons were.

The TK comps seem to be the same as what Talon are calling the B30, but the
Talon seems a lot cheaper.
I like the Durohead of the Talons as they seem to last a lot longer in the
field. I've noticed that the players who use Talons seem to keep there
sticks for a lot longer, they don't seem to be replacing them as often as
others are, but that's only an observation.
Have a great Day.

That is not allways a quality of a stick, I've two people in my team with
the same stick.
One of them allready completely ruined the bottom of the hook, while the
other one still only has little damage.

Hi,
I've played with a Talon. Its pretty curvy and lightweight.
I was able to dribble really well and you can also get a
really good crack if you hit with the meat of the stick.
Since I borrowed this one from a friend I dont play
regularly with it. I love to play as a half back and for
that I prefer the composites from Mohinder which are light
and pretty swift if you play a fine dribbling game. You can
also extract a decent hit from them. I guess both of these
sticks are worth your money. It 'll ultimately depend on
what position you intend to play.

Hi Sara
I'm from Australia and played field hockey for about 5 to 6 years now. My 2nd
and 3rd sticks were talon. I'm not sure if they would be the same as over
here. But they have been known to break down really bad, and classed as grass
and training sticks. I didn't mind them at first the grip and weight and all
but they do break do very easy and badly. I have had a couple of friends that
have had them to and the same problems have happened. At the moment i have to
mazon full composite stick and a black magic mazon wooden stick.
My composite sticks are fusion 3000 last year stock and this year fusion
7000. The 7000 is great for hitting, undercutting, works great on water based
turfs.
I use my black magic for sand based turfs and fusion 7000 for water based
turfs. Composite sticks don't give you much feel for the ball and you will
notice that especially if you play with wood and composite.
Try this play for stick and stuff.

if you would like more if or anything please ask.
bye bye
