I have a set of PIng Eye 2 irons (black dot) from 1988 and am looking for the loft and lie specs. Attempts to obtain this info from Ping have proven futile.  If anyone out there has this info. I would greatly appreciate it.

I don't understand you not being able to get the Ping standards. They used to put full page ads in Golf Digest and I think Golf World explaining their system. I gave my old issues to a friend. However, I wrote down the color coding so I would know  the colors for myself.
Black is standard - red is 1 degree flat- orange is 2 degrees flat- brown is 3 degrees flat- gold is 4 degrees flat... now I can't remember the upper numbers because I'm short and have only been concerned with the flat code so I may be off slightly but the next color above black is blue and it should be 1 degree upright, Green is 2 degrees upright-White is 3 degrees upright- silver is 4 degrees upright and Maroon is 5 degrees upright. Remember that a Ping shaft is considered to be 1 inch longer than INDUSTRY STANDARD.
The only way I could tell you what the loft on my clubs are, is to put them on my loft machine. I have orange dots, but the lofts should not vary. Second, unless you have worked with Ping clubs there is no way you are going to believe me when I tell you that it is the hardest steel I have ever worked with. It's just not worth trying to change the loft or the lie. I one time spent a whole evening trying to bend my Wedge another degree and thought I did until the next morning when I rechecked it and found it was right back where it started. PING also keeps a database with all the specs of every set they make.. Call
PING and give them the serial number on one of the hosels and they should
have all the specs for that set.
