I Play Mizuno Blades, They are the definitely the best money can
buy, I live in Dublin, Ireland so the models you list are unfamiliar
to me, I play with the TP-9 model which is the model most favoured on
the tour, Olazabal used play with TP-9 's before moving to Maruman,
although I believe that the Maruman clubs he uses now are based on
the TP-9 design. The TP in the model code stands fot "Tour Proven."
The models we have over in Europe are the
TP-9 Price approx stlg500.00 Irish Punts
TP-11
TP-18
TP-19
TPZ
TP2000 (Limited Edition)

I believe that the TP-9 clubs were indeed discontinued but due to
popular demand were reinstated.....but i'm not 100% sure.

Minuzo clubs are very nice, but I think Honma blades are also very nice,
and I really like the way they look. Honma's tend to be very expensive,

I'll second (or third, or fouth) the recommendation for Mizuno blades. I
have the MP-9's which I bought second hand from a friend. I've tried the
RAM forged blades which are nice but I still think the Mizuno offers a
more consistent "feel". What is "feel"? I don't know...it just feels
like it feels.

Has anyone compared the Hogan Apex to Mizuno?

I used to play the older Hogan Apex (92 version) and it was a great
club, but a little harder to align than the Mizuno (either the MP 14 or
29) because of the shape of the bottom of the blade. Purely subjective.
When I compared the new Apex to either of the two Mizuno blades I
thought both were far superior to the Apex. It could be because there
is a different shaft in the Apex now than there used to be. The Apex is
still a beautiful blade though!

Yeh, I gotta set of Mizuno Cimmarons (graphites)
Blades are better but some golfers like the forgiving nature of the
peripheral weighted clubs.

I really liked the 93 version of Apex. Unfortunately the shafts bent at
the hossle so I had the rep replace them. He chose to replace them with
the 94 version. He said the 94 was superior to any others. WRONG!!!
I hate the 94. It just does not have the feedback that the earlier
ones had. I am now playing the RAM blades, good feedback! Sweet club!!

TP = Tour Proven (European models)
MP= Mizuno Pro (North American models)
MS = Mizuno Staff (original Japanese models)

The MS line is the largest. I have the Mizuno '93/'94 Japanese catalog and
they are enough blade varieties to whet any purists appetite. About
15-20 different blade designs. There's the MS-1 to MS-11, plus MS-201 and
MS-207 on which the MP-14 and MP-29 are based. There is also an ultra
expensive TN-97 which is Tommy Nakajima's personal set. You would be surprised
that most of the Japanese pros in the Mizuno staff have their own kind of
personalized design. The catalog is really impressive - about >100 pages of
beautiful Mizuno golf items. They also have beautiful persimmon woods that
every purists would love.

By far the most interesting model I have seen in the catalog is the TP-X. This
is a forging that follows the cavity/blade mix-match of the Wilson
Progressives. Looks nice. I hope they bring them over.

The TP line is larger than the MP. Do not be misled by the model number. The
TP-9 is *not* the equivalent of the MP-9. I originally thought so, but when I
saw pictures of the TP and MP lines, the TP-9 is equivalent to the MP-7 (long
discontinued in NorthAm). And the TP-11 is equivalent to the MP-9. The TP-19
is the equivalent of the MP-29.

I believe the TP line is larger in Europe following the success of Mizuno in
that region. Perhaps with Faldo now playing the PGA tour, Mizuno's reputation
as the #1 club in the world would be more evident. I have this feeling that
Mizuno may have paid Faldo a handsome fee to play in the PGA tour fulltime
as compensation for his loss of appearance fees in playing European events.
