Does anyone have any experience with this electric caddy? Is it a good
one? What problems, if any, does it have?
Is it worthwhile to get the "remote control" option?
Thanks/ Stan

Stan,
Get the remote control option whatever you do!
I have a Dynamis and it is great.
I bought mine over the net - if you want the information then private
email me.

What makes the remote control option a must-have? I don't have an electric
caddy, but I can't imagine why I'd need a remote control.

I have just ordered a Dynamis with remote control, based on using
one of my buddies Lectronic Caddy. I think they are great, plus
your back is not twisted around pulling a pull cart. I even ordered
the folding seat option...for those long 5 hour rounds.

Make sure to get the hill tamer wheel if you play on any hilly
courses.

The remote control is handy since you can let the caddy range ahead of you
several yards and then stop it when you come to your ball. You don't have
to adjust your pace to the caddy. Also if you hit your approach from say 20
yards to the green, you can then replace your iron, take your putter and
while walking on the green, have the caddy take the path to the exit point,
and there it is waiting for you!!

I believe if courses rented these instead of carts, then the pace of play
would improve considerably. Apart of course for the time spend dragging the
pond for those who just couldn't get the hang of the rmote control option!!

I don't know about must have, but you can get tired or bored hanging onto a
cart without a remote.

Just for the record I answered this to Ben via private email as he
sent me an email with the same question - before I read this post.

But, basically the remote is important because it is convienient and
well worth the money. We are not talking toys here - kind of like a
car - you don't need AC but it sure is nice to have. Plus the resale
is higher.

With most things, purchase the best I can find (and afford) - that
way if I no longer need or want it - I stand a better chance of
reselling it and at least getting something back - rather than letting
it sit someplace in the house because nobody wants it.
Just my opinion.

Tim,
I'm confused by your response. The Dynamis doesn't have a fold down
seat. You must mean the Lectronic caddy.

Anyhow I purchased a Dynamis (from golfsellersdirect.com in TN). I paid
$899 delivered and am very happy with the product. After carrying my
bag forever, it was time for a switch and I didn't want to be attached
to a pull cart. It's really quite fun to just walk down the fairway.
That doesn't mean you can just mindlessly wander along. It's quite
possible to run into yourself, someone else or a tree with the Dynamis.
(It's very quiet). Plus if you're not familiar with a course, you may
encounter rough terrain or swampy areas that will require a bit more
attention.

What sold me on the Dynamis?
1) remote control (left/right, speed up/down, on/off),
2) range (they say it's 100 yds. I won't argue.) If the remote loses
touch with the cart, the cart stops until contact is re-establish
(automatically). This could happen due to distance or low batteries.
3) very compact storage and takes just a moment for set up and put away,
4) price,
5) brand (OK, I like their golf bags. This wasn't very important,
obviously).

It's really a lot of fun. I've learned to just keep the remote in my
back pocket and press the buttons through the pocket. Folks don't even
see it. It's very simple.

I rarely play with a scheduled group of golfers and it seems that folks
have one of 2 attitudes about the Dynamis. 1) Gee, that's really great,
tell me about it, or 2) they barely acknowledge it's presence. I'm just
guessing, but maybe the latter think it's too gimmicky. It's probably
similar to when golf carts were 1st available.

If you can justify the expense, I recommend the remote variety of
powered cart. And if you're interested in the Dynamis, don't be
concerned about where you buy it online. My dealer was close by, but
he'll never see it, any repairs would be done by me or a regional
service center.
