My wife is considering taking up the game. Does anyone have experience with
Nancy Lopez Albany Series 100 clubs. I don't want to go through a series
of club upgrades for her as she learns.

We club fit for Nancy Lopez at our golf school. It's a nice club for a
beginner.Make sure you have her fitted for them, try the Sarasota too. It's a
nice club for the price. OR buy a used set and then upgrade, she may hate
golf!! <G>

Sorry to disagree Summit, but the Saratoga is overkill for a beginner and the flex
is fairly stiff - between A and R.

The Albany 100s could be a good choice. Go to www.nancylopezgolf.com and do the
on-line fitting to get the length, grip, and flex advice. Since they're targeted
to the beginner/occasional player, you'll probably used ones from time to time.
Resale should be ok as they're really popular in women's leagues.

Hi James,
I'm a beginner who has been using the Albany 100's for 4 months now. I
love 'em! I have heard from my pro and a sales person at a superstore
that the great Nancy herself plays with the 100s. Whether true or not,
I'll be playing with these clubs for years to come (past the beginner
stage!). I believe the 200s and the Sarasota have a special metal
insert that allegedly makes the ball go farther (ha). The loft on the
clubs may be a litter different also, I think the 100's have greater
lofts (easier to hit/control), and hence are more geared for beginners.
There is a great place to buy the Lopez and other women's clubs on
line: http://ladiesgolfclubs.com/
They sell partial sets and individual clubs. The prices are excellent.
I've ordered several times without a hitch. I believe you can phone
orders in also. I highly recommend the clubs!

If you have them fitted correctly, Adams can put any shaft you want in them.My
point being hit them both, just because you're a beginner doesn't mean you
don't swing really hard, she could be 6 ft tall and weigh 180 lbs. The demos
Adams sent us for both the Albany and the Saratoga have different shafts in
them just for that reason.

An anecdote: My wife is 5' 4", 110 pounds. She's been playing about 3
years. She definately hits best with Dynamic Gold S300s on the irons,
and the CM100 on her McHenry Metals. She whacks my Snake Eyes MB-1s a
mile, including the long irons. She loses both distance and accuracy
and, in her view, feel with anything softer.

I say, find out what works and go with it.
