Women golf pros are always crying how they don't get the same respect that
the men pros do. I have a suggestion for them: lay off the dessert once in
awhile! I can't believe the number of fat-assed, out of shape women who are
on the LPGA. They want to be respected? Then try to at least LOOK like an
athelete. I swear, the next time I see Meg Mallon's fat ass fill my TV
screen I'm gonna lose my lunch.

Meg Mallon has won several majors. Where were the thin buns on those days?
Meg M also has a fine golf swing.
The game is about 'how many', ------not 'how wide is the butt'.
Does Craig Stadler remind you of a finely tuned athlete? Monty? How about Fat
Jack?---he won a few events too.

I'm sorry but I agree with Tom I hate fat ass people playing golf and not
just the women I hate the fat ass men who play too. They put out a bad image
for golf itself. Basicly "Golf should not be played by fat people!" and this
goes for all other Sport's for that matter they make the choice to be fat
thats their problem.

Somebody please tell me that this is just a joke... Trying to suggest that
someone's worth is tied to their appearance is the sort of thing we'd expect
in a high school locker room, not in a discussion among adults. You wouldn't
choose a physician by his or her physique -- rather, you'd do it by medical
skills. I'd suggest that you do the same when watching golfers -- rate them
by how they play. And if you think you can outplay Ms.Mallon, there are
always opportunities to compete in pro/am events...

Shouldn't assume it was by choice. Some people got dropped on their head as
infants. Either way, I hate it when stupid people post. They put out a bad
image for posting itself, especially when they don't use spell check and
think they need an apostrophe to indicate plural.

Unibutt or not, at least Meg Mallon looks female. The same cannot
be said for Mardi Lunn, who looks more like Ian Woosnam's brother.
Although she probably has more of a beard than Woosie.

Anyway, sturdier builds are always going to factor into the LPGA.
You can't turn golf into tennis. If you made the women play 7000
yard golf courses you'd wipe out the Annikas and Emilees and maybe
even Karries, and it would be Laura Davies (who actually looks
pretty pleasant in makeup) and Maria Hjorth duking it out. Until
golf requires 4 hours a day of aerobic running about, which it
obviously never will, the LPGA will continue to look like the LPGA.

You might imagine that playing longer courses would begin to attract
taller players with more muscular builds (say, a Serena Williams type)
but, face it, as Laura Davies has established, it's not just the track
star build that generates power.

Listen people all I was saying was that me and my 62 year old Father sit
every weekend and watch golf both mens and womens. And everytime we watch
some fatass women and men get on the TV nad it greatly disturbs just like
gays. I hate fat people. I think that golf is a sport you should be fit to
play because I have to run 2 miles every other day with golf clubs oon my
back for the golf team at school. Now call me crazy but that is alittle on
the rough side yet I see these great golfers chowing down on ho-hos and
twinkys and just blowing up yet to be good golf player I still have to do
all this running. I do belive that is a load of crap and that the PGA and
LPGA should ...slim down.... if you know what I mean!

Why ? Fitness != good golf. It helps, sure, but it is not a
requirement.

So because your school makes you do this, you think it is a

They've obviously worked out that they don't need (want) to be
super-fit to be a good golfer.

Serious question : How much does being so fit help your game ?

The players are not there to look good for the viewers - they're there

You might want to consider better examples in the future. Se Ri Pak has
possibly the most muscular legs and buttocks of any woman on the LPGA
and actually works against your argument. FYI, she used to be a track
and field athlete and she still follows a modified version of her track
training routine. As for the other 2, Lori Kane has won exactly once in
6 years on the LPGA Tour and Kelli Kuehne has never won, so neither of
them make shining examples, either.

However, Juli Inkster and Jan Stephensen are both multiple winners and
have slender lower bodies in comparison to many of their compatriots. I
believe Babe Didrickson was also relatively tall and slender. I think
these 3 (and a number of others) make better examples of your point.

He was @360--but he's losing weight.
He's much nicer BTW than the way he likes to act when he wants attention in

Wow, how unfortunate that there are people that would rather comment on how
I look standing on the tee than how far or well I can hit a ball. It's just
a game, and should be played, which means having fun. If anyone were to
tell me that I shouldn't be playing, I'd probably take my new Lob wedge and
swing it pretty hard. No sense hitting them with my driver, that's got a
graphite shaft. On the other hand, if it shattered, the sharp edges would
be make it hard to suture the wounds. Get a grip.

Hey Ag:

One of the funniest moments I ever saw was ESPN's Charlie Rymers giving
Duffy Waldorf grief about eating a lemon chill while on the tee box of #4 at
LaCantera in San Antonio, waiting to tee off a few years back at our local
tour event. Duffy laughed, and told Charlie that he was eating it as desert
after the Hot Dog he ate on the previous hole, and offered to send his caddy
to buy him one, since he was jealous.

Later, I watched "Lumpy" Herron on the practice green putting with a
cigarette hanging out of his mouth, and the other dozen pros hanging around
the green didn't even give him a second look.

But why should it make a difference if they play well? Dress neat, clean,
act respectful, earn respect.

Cardinal fans would like to forget him.

Apparently there is a high school golf coach who is known for her
overindulgence in the area of food. Several years ago, after some
particularly vicious comments from some of the kids on the team, she
instituted the policy of having the members of the boys golf team
complete 2 mile cross country runs carrying their clubs on their backs.
While I guess that it is a little unfair to curent members of the team,
what comes around goes around ;^)...especially given that several other
golf coaches have now picked up on the practice in the beleif that it
somehow improves golfing skill.

Did that make her thinner?
Sounds to me like she's fat-assed and thin-skinned.
Hey, she should post on RSG!

I believe Lori Kane has won at least four events, possibly five.

listen, the bottom line is: if they're going to televise women's sports, the
women should be attractive and more importantly, they should be competing in
the nude. I know this sounds sexist, but it would make women's sports much
more enjoyable to watch.

Many professional bowlers are fat. I went to a bowling match once and i really
felt like I was in the presence of greatness.
