Anyway, sturdier builds are always going to factor into the LPGA.
You can't turn golf into tennis. If you made the women play 7000
yard golf courses you'd wipe out the Annikas and Emilees and maybe
even Karries, and it would be Laura Davies (who actually looks
pretty pleasant in makeup) and Maria Hjorth duking it out. Until
golf requires 4 hours a day of aerobic running about, which it
obviously never will, the LPGA will continue to look like the LPGA.
You might imagine that playing longer courses would begin to attract
taller players with more muscular builds (say, a Serena Williams type)
but, face it, as Laura Davies has established, it's not just the track
star build that generates power.

Why ? Fitness != good golf. It helps, sure, but it is not a
requirement.

So because your school makes you do this, you think it is a

They've obviously worked out that they don't need (want) to be

Serious question : How much does being so fit help your game ?

The players are not there to look good for the viewers - they're there
to play golf.

Charitable of you to say so. She still looks a bit like John Daly in drag.

You might want to consider better examples in the future. Se Ri Pak has
possibly the most muscular legs and buttocks of any woman on the LPGA
and actually works against your argument. FYI, she used to be a track
and field athlete and she still follows a modified version of her track
training routine. As for the other 2, Lori Kane has won exactly once in
6 years on the LPGA Tour and Kelli Kuehne has never won, so neither of
them make shining examples, either.
However, Juli Inkster and Jan Stephensen are both multiple winners and
have slender lower bodies in comparison to many of their compatriots. I
believe Babe Didrickson was also relatively tall and slender. I think
these 3 (and a number of others) make better examples of your point.

The up and comming Grace Park may shatter that image as well.

I noticed on TV last week that Tiger seems to be gaining a little weight...
and most of it below his CoG.
Watch out. :)
dsc
The LPGA sould pay her to play thrusday and Friday though. Would definitely
spruce up the course and improve the tv ratings. :)

Lorie Kane has won exactly once, except for her three other victories.

Sorry, Dan, but you are off by a few. It have taken her 9 (or so) second
place finishes to reach the winner's circle, but Lori Kane has won _4_ of
her last 14 events. She's hot!
She also has, IMO, one of the finest swings today...male or female.

Who's being politically incorrect? I'd actually like to see more drag queens on
tour. How about Jesper in pink tights, blonde wig, and a cigar?
Speaking of Barkley... I haven't seen him lately, but I hear he has exploded
since retirement... up to like 360 or something.
dsc
He plays at my golf club, and we are friendly around the club.
He was @360--but he's losing weight.
He's much nicer BTW than the way he likes to act when he wants attention in
front of a TV camera.
Tiger stayed at his house during the Phx Open two weeks ago, and he regularly
takes cell phone calls from Tiger while on the range or playing
Brad.
I must be missing something, I checked the LPGA website before I posted
that reply and didn't see any wins for Kelli and only 1 for Lori. I
didn't bother to check Se Ri because I know what she has done.

What's so unusual about a blonde Swede?
;-)

I'm not particularily fond of him (all I know of him is the TV image), but I
hope he does keep his weight in line. Glad to hear he is a different person
in person. :)

Opps, you are so right. Sorry about that, my mistake.
Careful what you say about Laura, if she hears about it she's liable to
come over there and kick your ass:-)

You could add David Wells, Chris Patton, George Foreman, "The Fridge," and the
entire defensive line of the Baltimore Ravens to that list.
-Annika -----> remembering Sherman Plunkett
One of the funniest moments I ever saw was ESPN's Charlie Rymers giving
Duffy Waldorf grief about eating a lemon chill while on the tee box of #4 at
LaCantera in San Antonio, waiting to tee off a few years back at our local
tour event. Duffy laughed, and told Charlie that he was eating it as desert
after the Hot Dog he ate on the previous hole, and offered to send his caddy
to buy him one, since he was jealous.
Later, I watched "Lumpy" Herron on the practice green putting with a
cigarette hanging out of his mouth, and the other dozen pros hanging around
the green didn't even give him a second look.

Sherman Plunkett?! Wow, that goes back deep. I remember him too. Spilled out of

comparison.

Sounds to me like she's fat-assed and thin-skinned.
Hey, she should post on RSG!
I believe Lori Kane has won at least four events, possibly five.
