Tom Watson and wife swapping?

I was driving home Thursday night, had the radio on to some sports talk
station,don't know the show, as I wasn't really listening, when I hear the
guy saying Tom Watson isn't such a great guy like he seems. He then says
something about Tom Watson and Denis Watson [hockey player?] being involved
in wife swapping.Now, I just caught this one snippet, and didn't hear the
whole thing so I can't say much more. The guy definitely wasn't joking, and
went on to say again that Tom Watson ain't no saint. Anyone know anything
about this, or just about Watson being a bad guy?

Even if this were true (which I don't believe for 1 second) what does
that have to do with whether or not someone is a good person? If all
parties consented then it is none of your (or my) business and it damn
sure isn't a topic for a radio talk show. If it offends you, get over
it. There are plenty of real "bad guys" out there to worry about.

Never said it offends me, or that I thought it made him a bad guy, just
never heard this before and wondered if anyone knew anything about it, or
his other statement that Watson "ain't no saint", as I've never heard
anything bad about him.

I believe Tom Watson's second wife was first married to Denis Watson. Anyone who
can call that wife-swapping is one twisted SOB. The only thing that even makes it
interesting is that both of the woman's husbands were named Watson. I think your
guy on the radio has an axe to grind, or he's better at spreading gossip and
rumors than he is at whatever it is he's supposed to be doing.

Back in the 70's I was a golf professional playing mostly state opens.
I met a guy named Gary Vanier, who had gone to school with Watson at
Stanford. He said Watson was the biggest dopehead he'd ever seen, and
was seldon not stoned.

Has nothing to do with wife swapping, but apparently this guy was not
lying. I've heard it from at least one other tour professional as
well.

Today he's 53 and on the Leaderboard of the US Open CHAMPIONSHIP.
Today you're a washed up ex-golf pro posting to newsgroups spreading 2nd hand
rumors.
