Those are some pretty big faults. Might wait and see how others feel about
the game before forking out the cash. How much did you pay for it?

Yep. Saw it mentioned on GEnie (rave reviews), and ran out to take a look
at it. Loved it, bought it...along with the CD-ROM.

Yeah they are pretty big faults. The speed issue is becoming a sore spot
the more I play it. I paid $49.97 for it at Egghead.

With the right lie and a "spin" swing (you can adjust how much you try to
spin the ball), it is quite possible to back up the ball with the short
irons. The flight model of the ball is much more realistic, and you can
run the ball on pitch and runs and chip shots...unlike Links which tended
to fly the ball and stop even if you chipped with a long iron.
It says it's compatible with SB, 100% SB, PAS 16, and AWE32.

Guess I have time to get that CD-ROM after all. Wouldn't want to make a
rush decision on one if the game isn't up to par :) sorry! Better to get
a new system board first. With any luck they will have a 2.0 version out
some time soon. EA will probably get quite a few complaints from what I
read so far.

Yeah...Links386 isn't very realistic in that aspect.

Hmmm...I have a SB16 Basic and I plan to add a wavetable card to it.
I guess AWE32 would be the right sound card option. Oh well, I've put
it on the back burner...Need to upgrade the ole momboard first. Thanks.

WOW...I didn't realize I could reply to this, it's 23 years old... but here goes. I just tried sending a thank you note to Kyle Gee's email address listed in this old post. Interesting to see if it still works, LOL...
I happened across a set of Pro Series 560 irons I like so much I'm going to give them an overhaul including re-painting the little recessed numbers. Today they have this awesome sort of Empire Strike Back era look to them, to me. And they play great. Got them for $1.18 + tax at Good Will. Wish I knew how great they were or I'd have not passed on the Pro Series 767's that were sitting right with them. But I'm elated I have these and they even had an A flex Aldila shaft on them it turns out is just right for me unless I can get my swing speed like 10 MPH faster with control. But yeah... Tommy Armor 845 or 845s knock offs. Great to know, even who sold them. The 767's are a little more common. -- JDB, Tampa Bay area FL, USA

felt great but I couldn't get used to the huge offset. Lesson learned,
went back to zero-offset irons.
An assistant pro buddy of mine had a full set of Yonex clubs and at the
time (~1990-ish) they were probably the best clubs on the market. I loved
the driver.
