Hi folks,

I would like to buy a full set of irons. I had an offer for a King Snake
series (a copy of the famous King Cobra series) at 250 pounds (about $400 US).

Does anyone know this set? Is it worth buying it at this price?

I look forward to hearing from you. Any answer will surely help.
Thank you in advance.

I think they are good clubs, but I have gotten some advice from this
group that you should invest your money in real clubs.

make your own...

1) It's unlikely that the assembled clones/knock-offs/copies... are cheaper that the price of the components.

2) Unless your buying from a competent clubfitter/builder; you'd do just as well by GUESSING, your self, what you need. You can save=
a bit of cash, and possibly have a bit o' fun as well.

Here in the US, you can purchase these irons as component pieces, ie,
heads, shafts and grips and put them together yourself. Approximate
prices per piece are heads..$7.50, most stainless steel shafts $4 - $7,
grips $1.25 - $3.50....ie, total materials approximately $13 -$17 per
club.

(406-752-1188) for $225 about a month ago. Don't really know the quality
of this particular shaft, but it's better than what I have and the price
wasn't too outrageous. I'm a hacker returning to the game, and to spur my
interest figured I'd buy a new set of reasonably priced clubs. Played
with them once, and they didn't fall apart, but my actual "golf"
inpressions would be fairly meaningless at my stage if hackdom. 400 bucks
sounds pretty high for a set of King Snakes unless the shafts are pretty
exotic. Hope this helps.

Of course I've no connection with the above-just a customer.
BTW, if you are also looking for woods, the above outfit reccommends
against buying any of the Cobra clones. Talk to Jim Weaver there for
further comments/reccommendations.

My husband gave me a set of King Snake irons for Christmas. I took them to
Florida on our April golf vacation and immediately felt comfortable hitting
them. They felt crisper and I got better results than from my old irons,
Wilson's Lady Country Club. (I am a 29 handicap, hit 3-iron 145-150 yds.)
I know my set cost $ 250.00 CDN + shipping from a clubmaker in Toronto; I also
recall seeing a Florida golf ad for the same set at around $ 200.00 US for
steel shafts. Didn't see any ads for graphite shafts. $ 400.00 US sounds a
bit high, even if graphite shafts.
Hope this is helpful.

Hi,

Given the comparative prices of clubs in the US and UK (I've been
sending Ping putters etc. back to family and friends ever since I
came here) 250 quid probably isn't too bad.

However, I'd agree withe previous posters and recommend that you just
build them yourself. I just finished a set of clubs from Golfsmith
(who have a UK outlet). All you do is buy the head, shaft and grip
and stick them together with epoxy. OK there is a little more to it
than that, but not much and you can get all the info you need from the
dunkin archives.

Cheers...Andy
