Recently I've got my BB 5 wood reshafted. The shafts at my driver and 3
wood are Adilda (?) RCH 60 firm (graphite-boron). The new shaft has a
label RCH 90 firm. What is the difference between both types? I honestly
believe that I hit my 5W at least as far as my 3W (2 years old). Is this
due to
* the brand-new shaft
* another type of shaft (90 instead of 60)
* the fact that a 5W is easier to hit at all.

regards,
Dieter

I play the RCH-90 firm in my BB's, the RCH-90 and the RCH-60 are very different
in that the 90 shaft is a much stronger shaft. I would expect the RCH-60 to
give a little more kick than the 90. The torgue at the tip of the 90 is 1.0
and overall torgue is around 3.6. They had to strenghten the tip to keep
from breaking shafts due to the short hosel. I am not shooting from the hip
with this information, I have spoken to Callaway directly.

I also have the RCH 90 firm shaft in my 10 degree BB Warbird and I have hit a
few balls with a RCH 60 in a BB and I too noticed a big difference in the way
the club felt during the downswing.

P.S. Buying the BB was the best investment I have made in my golf game! YEAH!

It is my understanding that the RCH-60 was the original shaft the
Bertha's came with. They had problems with them breaking. They were replaced
with the RCH-90, which is what I have on my Bertha.

For what its worth.....

Ditto! Got mine and hit 5 balls on the range. Then I promptly went out
and hit 11 of 14 fairways. And two that I missed were on doglegs that
I went through!
