Ironic how many of the stereotypes Irving cites are MAGA.

But it also shows a clear lack of awareness on how culture shift has occurred;
I have a colleague who’s a West Point graduate (& 20yrs Service) who a couple
of years ago started a pair of sleeves in memory of his deceased son.

<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleeve_tattoo>

And being a sleeve, you’d never know of their existence in the office,
unless he takes off his blazer & rolls up his long sleeve shirt sleeves.

Not at all, since I'm merely noting how you misattributed your loathing.

How to say "I don't know the history of tattoos" without saying "I don't know
the history of tattoos".

FYI, tattooing has been around longer than Christianity. Feel free to cite where
in the Bible that Jesus said it was a sin.

Nope, that's merely you trying to impose your narrow values on others. By the same
token, the wearing of makeup, of hair styling, & management of facial hair have been
common for millennia too, and just as outwardly vain if that's your beef, yet you've not
been critical at all of these. Gosh, why is that? Is it because they're temporary?

Whereas you believe that it is preferable to hide your ugliness on the inside, so that
others may not as readily notice. Maybe it is time for you to come out of your closet.

The reason is 19th Century racism by the West, which prompted them to emulate
Western dress and culture. Read the accounts of the cruise of the Great White Fleet.

I am not a fan of tattoos and partially share, though not in a bigoted,
intolerant, lecherous manner, some of the distaste for ink.

However, unlike the lecherous old fart, I do respect people's personal
choices. I had a close young friend; I was not in favour of her getting
tattoos but she did wear them well and I certainly didn't suffer Irv's
impotence when we were close.

I note Irv is only really concerned with his spoilt view when he is
leching. He should pop down the local veterans centre and have a little
chat with them on the subject.

The one thing Irv has not touched on is his enquires and research into
why tattoos are so popular nowadays. This post is about one thing only;
Irv and how his selfish leching was spoilt when he notice the young
lady had an unappealing tattoo.

Do you shave?

Best be considerate to Irving: he's had his head baked too long in the South.

That's why he thinks that 95F temperatures are a regular occurrence. Problem
is is that Pittsburgh is ~1000 miles north Irving's Texas shithole, so getting up
to 95F is rare. Case in point, the last time that Pittsburgh even hit 95F was
four years ago, back in 2018:

<https://www.currentresults.com/Yearly-Weather/USA/PA/Pittsburgh/extreme-annual-pittsburgh-high-temperature.php>
<https://www.extremeweatherwatch.com/cities/pittsburgh/yearly-days-of-90-degrees>

> But to respond to this hilarious post, ear piecings is not apples to apples..

Why not?
Can you not comprehend that both are a physical change ... a "mutilation" ... of the body?

> Without earings, you probably would not even notice the piercing or care to notice it,
> but when someone has a sleeve or sleeves to their legs or arms, unless they are covered,...

Oh, so does this then mean that a small tat, especially if in an unnoticeable location, is okay?

> You can take earings off, you can't erase that horrible ink.

Tattoo removal is a thing. Typically, it uses a laser.

> And what the hell does shaving have to do with tattoos?

It is an illustration of another deliberate modification done to one's body, which you
apparently have no problem with. Indeed, I'd expect you to complain that someone
who chooses to not regularly shave/trim/pluck/etc and would claim them to be ugly.

LOL! The libtards response to your original post has me ROLLING ON THE FLOOR WITH LAUGHTER! You simply expressed your displeasure with tats, which is your RIGHT! But they spotted you as a LIBTARD DISBLIEVER who needed to be upbraided. There is simply NO justification to that - you are as entitled to YOUR opinion as they are to THEIRS!! PERIOD!!!

Personally, I regard tats as a brand, just like the ones they put on cows w/o their consent. I would NEVER brand myself, but if others want to do that that is their right to defile their bodies. Bottom line: you CAN'T improve on the human body with tacky ads.

There we go again with "Dickhead". Grandpa, please share with this group why you keep saying that my head resembles the male organ. One comment in passing that you were clearly making an excuse is an
"obsession" now, Dickhead?

Nothing is a bigger turn off than seeing some nice looking lady, and then you see tattoos. If I was single and hopped on some babe like this, my dick would be deader than dead. Nothing exciting about a woman that holds her body in such low esteem. It is just plain filthy. These ladies with all these markings are repulsive, whatever beauty they see in all this, I am at a loss. Truth be it, there is nothing beautiful about this. It is bodily disfigurement. They must really hate themselves. They might think it is attractive, well self delusion is what it is. These things look bad when they are placed, and then when they fade, and you get old, and your skin ages, they look like total shit. I love these 300+ pound fat whale women, they always have tattoos on their ankles. What is the deal with that? You already look like shit, now you add to your repulsiveness? Whatever..........

I would not love her any less if she decided to do this, but I praised her for her response. Shows I did something right as a parent. You have kids that are gay, transgendered, destroy their bodies with piercings and tatttoos, it all comes down to bad parenting. Bad parents cause dysfunctional offspring, it does not occur in a vaccuum. Shit parents produce shit kids period.

These are the same people that whine that they cannot afford insurance, they cannot afford braces for their kids, they are living paycheck to paycheck, but have money for tattoos. Oh, and then lets add cigarettes, gas sucking pick-ups, and lottery tickets, they always seem to have money for that. The presence of tattoos is an advertisement that you are dealing with an idiot. These painted slobs might as well paste a note to their foreheads " I am a waste of semen". Indeed they are. Of course there are exceptions, but I know of few successful people that have resorted to this lunacy . If they do have tatoos, they are discreet and well hidden. You decorate yourself all over, you are advertising to the world you are a fucking imbecile. Who will hire you, I mean for a REAL job. You are sentenced to a life on the garbage heap.

A golf buddy with whom I am planning a Scotland trip, my former senior VP (has MBA and another advanced degree) is heavily tattooed. He laughingly told me that he has a few that only his wife would ever see unless he started getting extremely loose and kinky.

I have other friends who also proudly display them. That said, ** I don't get it **. Especially on women. I can see some of these younger women when they get my age and older. "Grandma, what is that on your bottom?"

My wife of twenty years has told me, if I had a tattoo and she knew of it, she would not have started dating me. The other problems were smoking and riding motorcycles.

If I ever got one, the only thing I would get would be the Thrush Muffler woodpecker with cigar. On a bicep.
