This is a list of the current presidential line of succession, as
specified by the Presidential Succession Act of 1947

Current president: George W. Bush

Dick Cheney, Vice President
Dennis Hastert, Speaker of the House of Representatives
Ted Stevens, President pro tempore of the Senate
Condoleezza Rice, Secretary of State
John W. Snow, Secretary of the Treasury
Donald H. Rumsfeld, Secretary of Defense
=======================================

This is a scary list. We all know about Dubya's incompetence and the
evil that is Dick Cheney.
Hastert isn't quite as bad although after Katrina he said that much of
New Orleans looked like it should be bulldozed.
Stevens is the guy from Alaska behind the infamous "Bridge to Nowhere."
He threatened to resign if funds were taken from this pork project of
his and diverted to Katrina aid.
Rice is of course a proven liar and a former exec with Chevron (even
had an oil tanker named after her).
Snow used to head CRX which was later sold to the Carlyle Group. Say
no more.
And Rummy? You'd better be very fuckin afraid if it ever gets down
that far.

Fortunately, this could all change after the mid-term elections.
We might even get to witness a double-impeachment, getting rid of both
Bush & Cheney.
I can dream....

Nixon was pretty safe while he had Agnew as his VP.

...scary? The first four people on that list were elected by the people
in a freee and democratic voting process. Seems the majority of voters
disagree with you.

I made up this name. It was a choice between this and Watson deMehneux.

Wasn't much of it (with the worst damage) dozed, loaded into trucks and
hauled away? Sounds like he was right?

It would seem a vast majority of voters (about 68% and rising) regret the
fact that they elected this moron.

Have you seen his approval ratings? Remarkably, it's even getting to the
point where most CONSERVATIVES disapprove of his job performance.

Why am I not surprised?

The majority of voters have historically elected scary people many
times.

That's the plan. The GOP arranged things so no matter who you impeach
and remove, the replacement is just as bad.

And politicians are much more likely to have vanity handicaps than
sandbagging handicaps.

So were the Republicans salivating over President Gore?

Was there too much golf talk here on rec.sport.golf and you felt
obligated to increase the noise to signal ratio?

And we all know the voters are infallible.

Yeah, and it worked. Even hooked you.
Now you can go back to your "Come play in my tournament" posts.

No, it didn't. I don't generally go out of my way to post OT stuff,
just because I can. Nor do I respond to it.

Besides, do you really think you change anyone's mind with this stuff?

Take it from one who teaches this kind of thing: You do far better
asking questions that force your opposition to come to grips with the
inconsistencies in their position than you ever do making statements
trying to show those inconsistencies.

> Now you can go back to your "Come play in my tournament" posts.

Yeah, there's been a ton of those lately. Remind me to post one again.

Anni, that post might be the most coherent group of thoughts I've ever
seen in here.

Except for every syllable I've penned, of course.
