Anyone playing the Niclklaus/Linear Dynamics irons? I really liked the
feel of them in the the showroom but I've never seen anyone playing
them out on the course. I hit both the N1's and the Bear's and
actually liked the N1's more. The salesman ,whom seemed pretty stoked
on the clubs, told me the only difference between the 2 is that the
N1's head is 8% smaller than the Bear's (and the N!'s are $300 less).

If your playing either of these irons please let me know how you like
them.

Thanks,

I have been playing the N1 for about a year...They play like
a blade but have more forgivness..I really like them...However
I just bought a set of YONEX super ADX irons and they ae really
great!!! But they cost a little more than the Nicklaus
iron..BTW a set of N1 with a steel shaft should not cost more
than $325...

I own a set of Nicklaus N-1 irons. I am also left handed. I find the
irons to be excellent. I had a bit of trouble my first year using the
[this being my second]. I had more distance with these clubs than my old
Wilson set. However, once I was able to resolve club selection, I found
the clubs to be very consistent. I really think they are terrific
equipment.

Realise this is an old post about what is now an old, seemingly outdated piece of technology, but as I am just changing my irons now (2016) after using the N1's since I bought them as a high school kid in 1993, I felt that I couldn't let them go without proffering forth a few words. I love these irons. Same grips, same shafts as what I bought all those years ago and I can still take anyone on from tee to green today. They become an extension of yourself after hitting thousands of balls on the range and on the course and I wouldn't have it any other way. I've tried a heap of modern irons over the past 5 years or so but I didn't hit any of them any longer or straighter than I do with my Nicklaus N1's, so why bother upgrading? You get used to the weight too, these are nice light irons which sit well with me when I address the ball. I've shot 60's, 70's and 80's with these clubs every year and continue to do so to this day - nothing more than a 9 iron or wedge from 135m out (which is just as well cause I broke the 8 iron about 10 years ago and never bothered to get it replaced). The grips are like soap after the hours I've put in with them, but you sand em down and scrub em every 20 rounds or so and they're good as new (almost). Guess the moral of this little obituary is some that some things you really struggle to find ways to improve on - and this stick from Jack is one of them and man we've had some fun on the course together.

My brother gave me his used set of Nicklaus n1 linear dynamics the bear irons in early 2000s and i immediately fell in love with them. I have been using them ever since, but my brother in law gives me alot of crap to update my clubs. I have been looking at mizunos and finally got to test a pair. I have to say the n1's felt way better! People say mizunos are buttery soft, but these n1's are way,way softer than mx-25s. Still going to hit a few more clubs, but i am excited to keep my Bears. Excellent, excellent clubs.
