Serious warning here - real golf content. The typical RSG'er should read no
further :-)

The following URL

http://montescheinblum.wordpress.com/2009/11/02/a-very-helpful-video/

is something that I found interesting and somewhat helpful. I have always
found that my golfing success had a much higher correlation with my
backswing than "seemed reasonable". And my ability to actually achieve the
backswing that I wanted was FAR harder than "seemed reasonable".

I found the perspective in the attached URL to be a useful way to analyze
what you are doing, particularly on the backswing. If your backswing is not
a problem for you, then you probably won't care.

ps. The usual disclaimers here. I don't know this guy, have no personal
interest in this guy, and have no financial relationship with him

pps. In case a typical RSG'er has gotten this far and is in a complete panic
over having spent a number of minutes on what appears to be pure golf
content, let me assure you that this is a conservative plot to try to be
sure that males never bend over (think about it).

Wow. I have to say that is pretty cool. That is a great way to
explain swing plane.

Dave, Is there an alternative URL for the video,
YouTube perhaps. I'm having problems with it.
Cheers, Alan.

I agree entirely with this definition of the swing plane.
The only novel thing about the clip seems to be the
checking of position by bending the waist at various
stages of the backswing. Ben Hogan states in "Power
Golf" that he regards the neck as the hub around which
the arms, hands and club rotate like spokes on a wheel.
Here's Bobby Jones demonstrating this perfectly.

Here are two other clips that I found useful in defining
correct backswing positions.

I found these much easier to understand than Hogan's
sheet-of-glass analogy. HTH.

Cheers,

Alan
