I have seen references that Ping can adjust irons to different lie angles,
changing red dot to black, black to blue. I am interested if anyone has
any experience with this as far as cost to have it done as well as who to
contact.

Thanks

Yep. Bought a set of used Zings from the local pro at the end of last
season. He did all the measurements and mailed the clubs off to Ping.
2-3 weeks later, I got them back "re-bent" and as good as new. Cost, as
I remember, was $35-$40 including shipping.

The good thing about doing it at the factory is, that if anything bad
does happen, you've got the factory guarantee. Plus, in my case, there
had been some sort of recall on the shafts. So, while they were at the
factory, they were re-shafted (and re-gripped) the clubs for me!
Not bad :>)

It's really easier than that. If you go to a hobby store, they have all
different colors of paint in those little bottles. Or, you can do it
with finger nail polish. My wife changed the lie of her Ping Zings to
a purple dot! She hit them better when they were orange, though. :>)

If you know someone who builds clubs they will probably have a loft &
lie machine to change lofts & lies ogf clubs. A friend who built mine
has one. Just be careful because I've been experimenting and 1 degree
can change a whole lot. The best advice I can give you is clean up
your 5 iron good and go to the driving range and after every ball you
hit check and see where the ball is contacting the club face. If it is
in the center or dam close I would'nt change a thing. I was hitting
them in the center but at address The clubface was not lying perfectly
flat on the mat so I figured it could only help to adjust them with
his machine then hitting them off a lie board. Wrong!! Obviously
somewhere in my swing I was correcting for the little bit that the toe
was off the ground and when we adjusted the lie I ended up hitting
most shots off toe of the club. Actually he had a set of Pings there
and he was showing me the lofts of Ping irons versus standard which
everyone uses. I was very surprised to see that Ping clubs actually
have less loft than standard. What I'm saying is a Ping 5 iron is
actually a 4 1/2 iron and so on. So now when someone says to me "Boy I
can hit these irons farther than any other iron I've ever hit" I have
a good comeback. Well good luck!

I believe that he would be way ahead to contact Ping. I was told at one
of their booths during a Ping sopnsored LPGA tornament here in Portland
that they would change the lie and dot. If it wasn't free, it was very
cheap. Does take some time tho (like 3 or 4 weeks) and you have to pay
shipping. I was talking to them about buying used Pings. Paul

Ken,

I just purchased a set of Ping Zing Graphite black dots and the guy at
my local pro shop (Wayland Golf Shops) said it costs about $30-$40
for the set and takes about 3-4 weeks this time of the year. This work
is done and is guaranteed Karsten Mfg. (Ping's manufacturer). It all
has to do with a calculation involving distance from wrist to floor,
hand size, Type of swing, etc.... A good golf shop that sells Pings
should be able to tell you immediately what color "dot" Ping irons you
should be hitting.

Call Karsten (Ping) at 1-800-528-0650. You ship the clubs to them. They will
bend and ship back for $30 (US) total. Takes about 5-7 working days. They
repaint the dots, too.

Thanks to all for your information.

I spoke to Karsten today, They will change the lie for $30 (even my mixed
set of ISI's and Zing2 SW and 2 iron) including return shipping and should
take about 2 weeks.

Thanks

I had the lie changed on a replacement Zing sand wedge about a year
ago. I simply sent it to Karsten and they made the adjustment and
repainted the dot. Cost about $7 as I recall, including shipping.

Thanks

I know of several people who have sent irons back for adjustment. They can
only adjust so much(for risk of breaking). Cost is miminal, the $7 dollars
sounds right.
I think you can call 1-800-ping-fit
