- The Browns have made a trade to acquire a pro-bowl player. Reports say
it is Jerry Ball (NT) from the Lions for a Browns third round draft choice.
The Browns will have called a press conference at 2:30 EDT today (Friday)
to formally announce this. Radio station WKNR in Cleveland reported
the name of Jerry Ball. Jerry is a 6-year vet who has been one of the
best nose tackles in the NFL.
- Now does this mean Michael Dean Perry is trade bait............
On the draft, I see the Browns trading their #1 pick. With the trade (above),
the Browns need more draft picks. They have don't have picks in the 3rd,4th,
and 8th rounds. They pick #11 in round 1 and #13 in round 2.
Other than trading a Michael Dean, the only other way to get more picks,
is to trade their #1 pick. I don't expect to see Michael Dean traded,
but I don't know this for sure..... So therefore I see the Browns trading down
to acquire more picks.
I see the Browns taking CB, TE, and/or a WR with their early picks.
- The next 48 hours could be loaded with trades throughout the NFL.

I don't think they will trade their pick. I think they will
select either Lincoln Kennedy or Tom Carter....

I read a post in a Lions thread that had some pretty harsh words about
Ball. Something to the effect of him being not a very good team player, a
jerk, etc... Any Lions fans care to elaborate? I've seen him play - he's
pretty awesome. I personally thought he was worth much more than the
reported 3rd round draft pick - is there an injury or weight problem? Or
did these other problems influence the Lions decision to trade him
(assuming the trade goes through), or are the Lions just "doing good
business" by giving up a good player for what they think will be more. I
personally thought he was worth much more than the reported 3rd round draft
pick - is there an injury or weight problem?
Go Browns!

I see the Broncos trying to trade up to Clevelands spot to try and
get a top quality DL, one of the 2 Dan's, in front of Philadelphia.
Denver has several middle round picks they can package with thier 1st,
and Cleveland does want to trade down, the players they are interested in
are not worth the 11th pick in the draft. Watch for Cleveland to trade
down a couple of times and stock pile middle round picks. Tom Carter
should be availble around for the mid-20 picks in the first round. I
personally feel Denver should keep thier picks and take a CB with the
14th and a DL with thier 2nd round and pick up some WR's with the 3rd
round picks..
