Take maddox to larimer square and give him an old fashoined
westen lynching... He just plain sucks under even the slightest pressure...
I waste my keystrokes on this idiotic born loser!!!!!
Remember that Maddox would only be a junior this year, if he'd stayed at
UCLA. Maddox showed a lot of talent at UCLA, but he had not matured
by the end of his sophomore season. His problems at Denver have arisen,
I think, due to a lack of maturity in his game. He's one quarterback
who would have significantly improved from at least one more year in the
college game. (Of course, given the way UCLA quarterbacks were dropping
like flies this year, he probably would have taken two snaps and then had
a season-ending injury.) I think Denver was stupid to use a high draft
choice on him, not because he doesn't have potential, but because he's
just too young and inexperienced. (If they felt they absolutely had to
draft him for potential, they should have found some way to keep him on
injured reserve for his first season, or carried an experienced third
quarterback on the regular roster.) They're paying for that mistake, now,
but I think if they stick with him, in the long run he'll do good things
for the Broncos.

Take heart, you could have Kelly Stouffer and Dan McGuire, and you still
have Elway.

Maddox isn't a bum. He's a 19 or 20 year old kid put in a situation with no
supporting cast. He made some idiotic rookie mistakes, but I mean, he also
had some receivers wide open who couldn't hang onto the ball. An offensive
line also might have helped him. Remember, most quarterbacks get a few
years to learn a system, and get some garbage time at the end of games to
learn under less pressure.
It might have been idiotic drafting him in the first round, but what was
more idiotic is using him right away.

Hey, don't be putting the whole blame on the poor rookie...I mean
really, Denver's offense line didn't do Tommy any favors...he was so
shell shocked by the end of the game, he was just throwing to empty
spots on the field to avoid sacks and interceptions. Face it, Denver's
offense blows...the only guy who can make it work is the ol' wizard
John Elway and with the likes of Dallas, Buffalo and KC in their
future, even the wizard won't be able to save the Broncos from
extinction this year.

To add to Mikes defense of Maddox, I would remind Jason that one John Elway
was once a rookie QB(with 4 years of college under his belt, Maddox played
only 2) and Elway sucked too. I vividly remember a game on MNF where he was
so bad that after completing a little shovel pass to the back 6 inches in
front of him, the announcers sarcastically cheered because"Elway has
finally found a pass he can complete". Elway was ripped in the media
his first couple of years(remember all the how can a Stanford grad with
a dad who is a coach be so dumb comments?), and now he is deified.
Tommy will be allright.

After the horrible disgrace that Maddox (yes, a bum) put on versus the Raiders,
I knew that it would be better to simply hike the ball to a running back!
This would be good for a couple of reasons:
1. Maddox (a bum) wouldn't be in the game.
2. Most running backs can out throw Maddox.
3. All running backs can out run him.
4. All running backs can out block him.
With an extra running back in the offense, the team would be bigger and better
and Maddox (a bum) would be on the bench, oh my bad, off the team.

He's not a wizard, he's a demigod!
I agree, sort of.

No, Testaverde was a bigger waste.

Now let me clarify my agreeing. I agree that his current situation is 100% his
fault, but not because he lacks talent, but because he got suckered. Maddox
said he left because of fear of a salary cap in the NFl's future. Let's assume
he plays 2 more years and graduates as a senior.
Does anyone out there know how long it would take for this case to
stop? The NFL has threatened to apeal the case all the way to the supreme
court if necessary. That's a good 3-4 years of appeals before they are forced
into a salary cap situation.
Now, it could be quicker if they negotiate, but when was the last time
the NFL and NFLPA came to a rational agreement? 1982, and that was more
because of external pressure than anything else. Maddox shoudl have stayed in,
become a better QB, and gotten picked by a better team.

No you waste your keystrokes BECAUSE you're an idiotic born loser.
I'm sorry. I apologize, but it was to tempting. :)
