On Being Called A "Nigger"

As some of you may remember, Chez Loewe (Lemay division) is in an
apartment complex. I was rudely awakened about 40 minutes ago by some
guy loudly knocking on a door. The building has had trouble with
intruders sleeping in storage bins lately, and I thought that was what
was going on. So, I went out to provide moral support to person doing
the rousting. Turns out a large agitated black man, seemingly drunk,
was beating on a door of an apartment he thought housed someone whose
car was blocking him in. He had decided to share this with the entire
complex (instead of calling the cops). I asked him to stop and told him
that One O'Clock in the morning was an inappropriate time to be waking
everyone up. Dude let loose with a stream of "Nigger" this and "Nigger"
that - referring to me (ranting about my motorcycle being in his way as
well - the bike is parked in a spot occupied by the building's dumpster,
rendering the spot unusable by any car).
Is it now standard practice for blacks to call *anyone* "Nigger"?

Shouldn't I presume that blacks are equal to me? And I laugh when I am

It's becoming an endless source of amusement to me to watch
white conservative men struggle with matters of race.
David: One data point does not standard practice make. It's
not as though those darkies are off conspiring to confuse
you. I'm sure this guy is as much of an asshole to people
with brown skin as he is to people with pink. Why try to
make some sort of generalized racial statement using *him*
of all people as your example?
Faced as you are with the specter of your own mortality,
has it occurred to you that eventually, on your deathbed,
you may look back on your life and wish you had spent more
time trying to understand the proper way for idiots to use
racial slurs? Or maybe do you think there's better stuff to
worry about?
