Hats off to Texas. Losing McCoy hurt and honestly, they could have pulled
this one out with him.
I thought 'Bama would steamroll Texas and it certainly looked like they
would, but with 3:00 to go, Texas had their chance. And with that said....
If Boise State doesn't get at least 1 AP vote, something is wrong. 'Bama
struggled to fend off a Texas team without their starting QB. The Tide
should have won this game 38-6. They were ahead 24-21 with 3 minutes left.
That's just sloppy play and terrible coaching in the second half. That last
TD was an attempt to fend off the few voters who might've considered voting
for Boise. I had the score pegged 38-20 with a healthy McCoy. It wound up
being that despite a rookie QB leading Texas for all but four plays.
Nobody....nobody can convince me that Boise wouldn't have scored 21 points
against the 'Bama we saw tonight. Hell, they would have probably thrown up
21 in the 1st quarter as sloppy as Bama was in the first 15 minutes. You put
Boise in this game and they have a 28-14 lead at halftime. You put Florida
in this game and they probably take a 35-7 lead in at halftime.
Congrats to Alabama and all, but they were lucky tonight. Put in a QB with 3
or more games of college experience who doesn't throw an awful shovel pass
and they probably lose this game.

Give bama credit for knocking him out. Good defenses do that.
But yeah, Texas almost won without him, so with him they very well might
have won. An outstanding team.

No they don't.
Well, ANM did it going for an injured knee on our QB in College
Station.
But I didn't think the Bama player was trying to take Colt out.

I was 10, and my feeling about it was that Akins shouldn't
have been on the field with the gimp knee in the first place.
But that was mostly because I didn't want Akins on the field
in the first place. :)

I know, the video is on YouTube and I've watched it several
times. The thing is... that's football. It wasn't a *dirty*
hit on the knee from the side or behind, it was just a diving
tackle on what looked like a busted play that went straight
to the knee. These tackles happen all the time without
injury, and if Akins had been healthy in the first place,
that wouldn't have knocked him out.
That, I honestly believe.
