4. Georgia - beat South Carolina 40-13
5. Ohio State - beat Tulsa 41-20
6. UCLA - lost to #2 Fresno State 40-37
7. Iowa - beat Kent State 30-7
8. San Diego State - beat Utah 33-31
9. Michigan State - beat Miami 38-17
10. Kansas State - beat Nevada 38-17

dropping out - Nevada, Purdue, Stony Brook

Cal-Los Angeles is 2-1, as is USC.

But UCLA's only loss is to #2 Fresno State, whose only loss is to #1 Oregon. USC has the loss to Stanford who lost to #10 Kansas State. Probably Stanford is #11 and USC is #12.

the reality is data points are so limited that we aren't anything close to 'sure' about any ranking system; thats why your method of doing things like "well #6 lost to #4 by 3 points so
it seems right to keep them at #6" is so wrong. I know thats not what is going on here but I wanted to bring it up because it goes to one common flaw with a lot of rating systems.

The reality is we don't know that #4 is #4 or #6 is #6. What we *do know* is that the team in question lost, and that data point has meaning.
