I don't see what the problem is with this. The mothers who do this
are clearly handicapped-- morally handicapped.

Indeed. If it turns out that the handicapped "guides" get $20/hour out
of the $130/hr charged the yuppie moms, that would be the cherry on

Is it immoral to take a handicapped child to Disney?

...at no cost?

No, but that wasn't what the article was about. It was about not having a handicapped child and gaming the system to take advantage of an accommodation offered to people with disabilities. That is immoral.

But they were helping those handicapped children

How many kids never have the chance to go to Disney? These fine
parents were paying the way for a kid they didn't even know.

Such good, good people.

I think there's been some misreading of the story, including by me.

The handicapped people being rented out aren't kids... they are the
guides.

anyone can rent a scooter at Disney. You don't need to hire a disable tour guide. A couple of years ago a friend of mine had a walking boot on after he had surgery on his toe. He got a scooter and everyone was able to got to the handicapped entrance. Most rides you could not bring a scooter into the main entrance. And he is nowhere near a 1%er
