I noticed there’s a also mini nerdle mode in the settings that allows you to play with only six columns. I would have called it English major mode.

I think it’s easier. You have fewer characters to choose from, the answer
follows a general pattern and your guesses are constrained by math.

It seems to take me longer per guess, but I haven't been in danger of not getting it by 6. And "=" always has to be one of the answers, which really can only go in three places, one of which is going to be the most common.

Yeah it’s probably easier in terms of average number of guesses, but would be harder than Wordle if there were a time limit.

I have this theory that nerdle may be really hard to lose in terms of making six incorrect guesses. I bet most people who “lose”at nerdle just give up trying to think of a possible solution before their sixth guess.

To me nerdle, compared with Wordle, is like a shorter golf course that has a lower average par, but it takes you longer on each shot to figure out which club to use.
