University of Florida Gators

9/3 Wyoming W
9/10 Louisiana Tech W
9/17 Tennessee W
9/24 @Kentucky W
10/1 @Alabama W
10/8 Mississippi State W
10/15 @Louisiana State L
10/29 vs Georgia (Jacksonville) W
11/5 Vanderbilt W
11/12 South Carolina W
10/26 Florida State W

Obviously the two biggest risks that I predict a "W" on are Tennessee and
Georgia, but I wouldn't be shocked if Alabama beat the Gators this year.

I predict UF meets LSU in a rematch for the SEC Championship and the Gators
pull it off.

If Nebraska is good enough to get 7 wins this year, there is no way
they lose this game. I suppose it is possible Missouri will be much
better than I think, but I think they will suck, big time.

I have Fresno and SC switched. It wont take 3.5 quarters for SC to
realize they can throw on us, like Meatchicken.

I like 7-4, losing to SC, ASU, and 2 horrible losses (Zona?) that will
leave us scratching our heads. We'll be mired in one of those 5 team logjams
in Pac, end up in Sun Bowl, beating Wisconsin 20-17.

I'd add BC to that group. 1) they have a history of pulling off upsets
and 2) I think they'll be playing over their head trying to prove they
belong. They'll get one of VPI, Miami or F$U.

Maybe I'm being too generous.

The 'unless everything goes wrong' wins are:
BUFFALO
LIBERTY
Army

The 'we should wins':
Cincinnati*
RUTGERS*
SOUTH FLORIDA*

The swing game (I think we could suprise them at The Rent like we did
to you folks last year):
SYRACUSE*

The revenge-fueled loss:
Pittsburgh*

The 'we're not ready for this type of team" losses:
Georgia Tech
West Virginia*

The 'cover the kid's eyes' loss:
LOUISVILLE*

So, at least 3 wins. Things break right and it's 6 wins. We sneak up
on 'Cuse and it's 7 wins. Young team, so anything can happen.

We'll hang with Oklahoma for 3 quarters or so, maybe put a bit of a scare

Cal certainly ain't what they were the last couple of years, I think we can
take 'em at home... And of course follow that game up by laying an egg in
Pullman...
Tough win at Stanford, followed by a tough roadie to Arizona, equals a split
of some kind...
Arizona State is a bit of a toss up at that point in the season... I'll give
my boys the benefit of the doubt...
I certainly wanted to put us down for a W against SC, but we just aren't in
that class yet...
And what the hell, give 'em a bowl win...

Whoops...I think the Utes proved last year there is no way in hell a
MWC can come within sniffing distance of the MNC.

Not a horrible schedule. At Purdue and Michigan will be earned wins. A win

healthy(esp Drew) and Coach will take it from there to make whatever happens
a very enjoyable season.

* I think UT will lose at least one, maybe two of these.

UT has the talent to run the table and starts ranked high enough to
get to the Rose. Florida and LSU are equally as talented, Georgia isn't
bad, and Bama is improved combined with their whiny need for redemption
are all possible stumbling blocks.
My problems are that UT hasn't played well when starting highly
ranked, the "great" secondary needs to prove it can stop, uh, anyone,
and a few injuries can really hurt. Something like 30 players have had
operations since the Cotton Bowl.....last year's injury situation had
to be an anomaly...right?

Friend, it is time to throw off our shackles of fear, and rejoice!

The Man of Great Appetitie is bringing us into a new epoch, an era in
which we shall fear no abusers of agricultural products, no
sartorially-challenged wearers of sickly-colored feline-logoed shirts,
no meteorological phenomenons, and no one named The Gary.

Yea, verily, I say unto the doubters and the unbelievers: RAWK CHAWK

No. Illinois - Win
Notre Dame - Win
EMU - Win
@ Wisconsin - Win
@ MSU - Loss
Minnesota - Win
Penn State - Win
@ Iowa - Loss
@ NW - Win
Indiana - Win
OSU - Win

At Wisconsin is a little scary as the opening road game, but it's been
ages since we've lost a Big Ten opener...and I'm still not so sure how
good they are talent wise right now.

At MSU, well, they have to win sometime again, don't they? I mean, if
they're not pissed about last year, they'll never win again...and it's
up there.

Penn State is a little worrisome. Lord knows they're due. If they
win, I expect JoePa to retire in the press conference afterwards. But
it is at home.

At Iowa - the only team (and coach) that scares me. Unless Iowa's
personnel loses give them a major setback (and Ferentz can't pull
miracles like last year), I don't see us winning this one.

Ohio State will be tough, but they stole their one up hear already.
This is a home and home series now.

So, looking at 9-2, I'd have to say probably two of the three of Purdue
(great schedule guys), Iowa and OSU would be ahead of that in
conference, if not overall. So, as much as I'd like to squeeze out a
BCS game, and at least go to another site rather than the Rose Bowl
again (unless, of course, I'm all wet, and we CAN go to the Rose Bowl),
that says Citrus to me more. Which is actually a pretty nice
bowl....but not one you shoot for.

So, Orlando bound, and beat some SEC team there like we always do
unless it's someone who should be playing for the national championship
and has inexplicably lost the SEC championship game to some slug.

Oh, I'm not knocking the Michigan one. But if you think your team is
going to have some issues, you usually pick them to lose one they
shouldn't. Or a tough road one. I might have thrown in at Purdue as
being tough, in a round robin sort if way.

And a lot of people pick pessimistically, rather than the other way
around. Since you're so positive, I'm thinking Iowa thinks they have
it going this year, which is...scary.

I find this amusing, just because it's fun to see someone beating USC
twice in one year in print. My breath shall not be held.

IA with your last point. We could be in for a rude awakening as each of the
last three years we have been surprised by winning with adversity. This
year too many hawks are expecting it. But we do finally have a QB to start
the season.

I did state that I thot Purdue would be a tough game. It looks to me tho
that one of the reasons Purdue is getting accolades is because of an "easy"
schedule. Ease of schedule/=quality of team. I look at Iowas schedule and
besides tOSU, Mich and perhaps Purdue, its tough to pick the game they
should win and may lose. Iowa State might be my next guess as ISU treats a
win against Iowa as a successful season. I guess my point is is we are set
up for a 10 win season far more than we have been for the past three
seasons.

One thing I've learned from this thread, and I'm as guilty as the next

8-3 or maybe 9-3.

My only addendum to it would be that I think Purdue is picked to do
well because they're returning almost everybody (and not that a lot
"Everybody", but just about every single person "everybody"), including
the whole defense, which was pretty good last year, AND has a really
easy schedule.

I don't think PU is world beaters, but I don't think they're stiffs
dodging everyone either. (Although it is cute to hear their players
talk about OSU and MI not having to face them. Even though they'd both
be away games for them. It's easy to talk tough when you don't have to
face them).

Also, has Iowa won at Purdue recently? It's not an easy place to play.
If it was in Iowa City, I'd have little doubt of the outcome.

Hmmm...maybe not that many 9-3 teams....

So, if OSU, VT, ND, Purdue, and UT all go undefeated (I read it here
first), who's in the Rose Bowl? The highest ranked of the two? ND,
because they were picked to go undefeated twice? And no one's even said
USC is going undefeated yet....

A lot of teams are going to be pissed off this year... ;-)

If ND and Purdue go undefeated, it won't matter. The Apocalypse will
