However, keep in mind that this is a sufficient but not necessary
condition for suckiness, or, to put it in terms that OU fans (and Big 12
fans in general) might understand, don't put the trailer home in front
of the pickup....

Who would have thought one year ago that fans of the Big 12 would be
fending off claims of superiority from WAC fans?
Now I don't believe for a minute that the WAC is even close to the
Big 12, but the fact that someone actually has a few numbers to make it
look plausable is pretty funny.
Makes me wish I had saved some of those posts by Big 12 fans like
Craig Gowens, etal. proclaiming equality or superiority of the Big 12
to the SEC even though the Big 12 had never played a game.
Some of us tried to tell you not to make claims until the Big 12 actually
started playing games, but Nooooooo! You wouldn't listen.

The Big Twelve, WAC, and the SEC have a statistically insignificant separation
in suckness. This means that the Big Twelve could very easily suck TWICE as
much as the WAC; while BOTH conferences suck a million times more than a
good conference like the Big East.

Well, a year ago, the WACkos were claiming superiority over the Patsy 10
on the strength of the WAC winning the season series against Patsy 10

I think the reason this hasn't been discussed is because there weren't
many games involving the two conferences. The only one I can think of was
Georgia's victory over Texas Tech. That may have been the only one.

Unless you're talking about altitude or number of teams in the conference,
there isn't a single "fact" that supports this inane notion.
I can assume that you're only talking about this past season, since in the
12 seasons since the last WAC team was named MNC, teams in the ACC or Big
East have won five. So let's look at 1996.
The WAC certainly didn't win any games against Big East or ACC teams, so
you can't make any silly 7 to 6 analogies. In fact (and yes, this really
IS a fact) the Big East won the only matchup vs. the WAC (and that was a
road game).
Still in search of "facts" that support the idea that the WAC has
surpassed the ACC and the Big East, I turned to the only source available
that compares all of college football, the Sagarin ratings. The rankings
for 1996 by conference average were:
1 Big 10 81.28
2 Pac 10 80.01
3 SEC 78.92
4 Big 12 77.76
5 ACC 73.65
6 Big East 73.53
7 ConfUSA 72.48
8 WAC 66.12
The WAC, in fact, sucks. However, since I don't in "fact" want to change
my daughter's diaper and, if I keep typing, my wife will do it, I'll humor
you and look at the numbers more closely. Florida State's Sagarin score
is 99.04 and Miami's is 86.22. If you throw out either team's score and
recalculate the average for the remaining teams, the ACC would drop to
70.47 and the Big East would drop to 71.72. Both numbers are, in "fact,"
still greater than 66.12. Carrying your erroneous assertion even further,
removing FSU and North Carolina (93.24) drops the ACC to 67.22, and
removing the two top teams from the Big East (Syracuse - 89.96 and
Virginia Tech - 87.04) drops them to 68.54. These numbers are STILL
better than the WAC.
As a preemptive strike, I looked at the numbers and saw that the WAC is
more bottom heavy than Tonya Harding. However, you can remove Hawaii,
UNLV, UTEP, San Jose State and Fresno State and the WAC still doesn't
measure up. The most telling stat, though, is if you replaced Hawaii
(46.39) with Florida State, the WAC wouldn't make up half the difference
between themselves and the Big East. Frankly, WAC looks like it should
stand for We're Almost ConferenceUSA.
Now, what was that you were saying about starting an argument about how
the WAC has "in fact" surpassed the ACC and the Big East?

now that I think about it, you may be on to something. I should get
with the program and put gravy on everything: french fries, rolls,

than the refried beans could. I didn't want to ruin the chicken-fried
steak, either, because it was the only thing that Central Kitchen could
make right (and, given the list of ingredients above, I can see why).
I've always had problems with the gravy before, probably because of a
genetic deficiency inherited from my parents because they were born up
North.

Don't sweat it. I have (distant) relatives up north who refer
to their gravy as "sauce".
That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Everybody knows that
"sauce" refers to the type of stuff Walkup manufactures in the shed
behind his trailer (I think he may use old socks, too).
