So the boy hits one out at a park we've never been to, and it's cool,
but he's 6'2" and weighs in at 180, so not totally unexpected--he hits
them out regularly on the LL junior field where they practice--it's
around 300 feet. We come back the next day for the second half of the
tournament, and one of the groundskeepers tells me that the corners
are 330, and dead center is 405. I went back to the spot where I
found his ball the night before and paced it off at 360. Not bad for
a 14 year old.

That's awesome Bob, nothing better, and I mean NOTHING, than seeing a
child succeed in something. My son is getting very good at soccer
(he's 12) - to the degree that opposing coaches are commenting on it
to our coach after games (and the boy loves the game, something that I
never really got into but am now trying to learn since it's so
important to him).
