Hey guys. I have a few questions about club nationals this year. I
play on a team called Gnarwal (there seems to be some contention about
exactly how the name is spelled) out of Iowa. The captains of the team
are REALLY lazy and haven’t submitted their bid for nationals this
year. I want to make sure we get in, but don’t feel it’s my place to
submit a bid without the captain’s approval. There used to be a guy
that played for Gnarwhale named Steeve (also some contention about how
his named was spelled) who went behind the backs of the captains and
submitted a bid for a tournament a few years ago. Needless to say he
never showed up to practice again. Nobody’s really heard from him
since. I think he moved to Nebraska.

So, first off. How much is the bid for Nationals? $150? $200? Is there
like an “a” pool and a “b” pool? Nerwhal is going to be PRETTY legit
this year but I don’t know if we quite have the talent to take down
some of the elite club teams. YET. We run a pretty crazy Swedish-Arab-
Iso-Clam offense that we perfected during summer league a few years
ago and we’ve been waiting for the right time to roll it out.

Secondly. What’s the cash prize for winning nationals? We’re looking
to get some ill new sublimated jerseys and a cash prize of a few thou
could really go a long way towards helping us reach our goal of being
the SWAGest team in the Midwest.

Lastly, I want to make sure there isn’t a conflict of interest between
USAU and our sponsors (assuming our bid to nationals is accepted). We
have some patches on our jerseys of our sponsors. Walgreens and
Sketchers shoes mainly. Are there any rules about this? I guess since
we’re being sponsored we’re “technically” professional players and I
didn’t know if a team of professional players would be allowed to
square up against amateurs. Any clarification would be much
appreciated.

Thanks!
