I asked teams to commit to attending their conference tournament
yesterday.
lots of teams have!

the ACC has 7 teams committed to attending and another 2 that have
expressed interest.
if all 9 commit to attending....the team contacts will be asked to
rank all the teams.
each #1 will earn 9 points, each #9 will earn 1 point and all in
between....
The 8 teams with the highest scores will be the 8 invited to compete
for the ACC title and the automatic bid to the UOA National
Championship that goes to the champs.

Stay tuned for more updates.

Mike, I gotta ask, why are conferences being limited to 8
teams? I know you like the 8 team format (as do I), but
eliminating a team from the series before they ever to get
to play a game seems pretty harsh. Especially since you are
following the NCAA conference rosters, hardly any of which
have 8 teams or less (big 10, big 12, pac 12, ACC, all have
12 teams, Big East has 16 teams). Ivy league seems to be
the only 8 team conference.

Just curious,
Mitch

---8 team tournaments have worked perfectly for us....that's what
we've been doing....and that's what we're gonna keep doing.
easy to find 4 fields....
some teams don't want to make the long trek....boom two teams
out.....another might not want to compete....boom...another out....
ask the remaining 9 which teams are the top 8....boom...we got 8.

----perfect format...everyone's playing all the time.
8 observers are easier to secure than 10 or 12 or more.

ACC sounds like it's pretty much full up. How about the
other conferences?

--i think the ACC will have 9 teams commit, and will have to rank the
teams in order to get down to 8 teams.
6 teams interested in Big 12
9 interested in Big 10
8 interested in CAA
6+ interested in Ivy
7 interested in SEC

not all 'interested' are committed if invted at this point, tho.

tons interested in conference X
