Did you register with the UPA as a college player for that
year (the one of sectionals)? I believe that's how they
determine it or could also be via sectionals rostering.

yeah, i'm pretty sure it's based on when you first register
as a UPA member as a college player. so as long as you
didn't register freshmen year i don't think it counts

First rostering at an official UPA series event (Fall series, college
series, UPA-sanctioned tournament or league).

I don't feel like checking but I believe if you had registered while
in HS the clock starts upon starting at college whether you register
or not.
It wasn't clear if the original poster had done that but it didn't
sound like it.

Call the UPA (contact info on www.upa.org). They will know better
than RSD.

Assuming you aren't on a college roster your freshman year, and you
played in a UPA youth event, the clock would start your sophomore
year. It starts one-year removed from HS to accommodate those who take
gap years between HS and college. Probably would be best to check with
UPA HQ, though.

You don't even need to be a member to start your
eligibility. You can be on a roster and never pay any dues
and never play a point and you lose a year.
