Yes folks you heard it here first, and you are hearing it again. Why?
Because he is the best player in the country, the best coach in the
country, the best teacher in the country, the best teammate in the
country, and the most spirited player in the country. Yes boastful I
sound, but true I be. How do I know all of this, well I've been playing
alongside this man for 4 years now, and I see how he encourages his
players, encourages players of lesser skill on our b team, encourages players
on other teams. I see how he brilliantly analyzes the game, how he comes
up with practice, after practice of great drills that incorporate all the
facets that help improve our game. These aren't your borrowed, let's run
an endzone, drills, he comes up with his own. listen the man is awesome.
if there ever was a deserving man for winning the award for not only great
skill, but great spirit, great knowledge and the effect and legacy that he
has left with the game, it is Ben Wiggins. and don't take my word for it.
listen to all these people here:

No joke.
Ben is the best candidate, hands down.
Vote for him.

Yee-haw.

you folks are right... lemme tell you a story about something that
happened at pres day this year.. keep in mind i had never met the guy
and barely knew who he was...i was watching oregon and ?berkeley? play
in semis or finals or something and wiggins threw a thumber to the
back right corner of the endzone for the score. the fact that it was
perfect in form and placement is not my argument for him for the
award. when he came off after the point, i asked him why he hadnt just
thrown an outside-in forehand. his reply: "if i throw a forehand, it
could get hand blocked. if that happens, i let the other guy determine
the outcome of the play. i threw a thumber because there's no way the
mark is going to get it, and it means that whether or not that throw
is caught is ALL UP TO ME." (or something to that effect)... freakin
ballziest justification ever... and there is zero doubt in my mind
that ben wiggins deserves the callahan.

Doesn't Wiggins at least partially control his fate? If Oregon wins the NW
region, Ben's just about has to move to the top of the candidate list.

To a certain degree I think Jeff Graham is in the same situation -- U Mass has
been to Nationals since 1988. But the NE region gets three bids, so the upset
factor isn't quite the same.

Mr. Pug,

Now, tell us the greatest SERIES of consecutive plays by a single
player that you've seen. I only ask this because I was there, I saw
it, and I am a believer!

More to come after Pug's reply...

I don't think I could agree with Matt more. As an opponent for two
years as well as a teammate for two Beware-o the Sombrero tourneys (go
4feit!), I have yet to meet a player who combines skill, positivity,
determination, love of the game, care for his teammates as well as his
opponents and the ultimate community in general. Ben is as deserving
of this award as he is of all the high praise posted here on RSD. If
ya don't know, now ya know.

i'm sorry.. you'll have to be a little more specific on what you mean
by series of plays... in a game? in a point? on one offensive point?
i'm not sure where you're going with this...
pug

ps. one of my room/teammates was on wiggins' beware-o team this year,
and has even more good to say about him than me...
pps. never seen most of the east coast allstars play, but i can't
imagine anyone who embodies what the callahan is about more than
wiggins.

I wear laceless shoes worthy of the fossil record. I walked into
Ben's yesterday and he said, "what size shoe do you wear again?".
Then he gave me a pair of the sweetest shoes ever. Maybe Ben's playing
me for the fool, knowing I'll post this but this is the second time
he's given me shoes. sucker.

Shoes off his feet is no skin off his back.
I will sky for this guy like for none other.

oooh, oooh!! can suck ben off next?!?
looks like the line starts in san diego.
is that why the squids chose their mascot...long, opulant, slippery
mollusk with flared head and swims backwards?

thoughts on to my teammates..

cc9, aka gramps, or chad, or mr. christensen-woods,

get your ass off of your chair, stop wasting your time reading RSD and
posting like an idiot when you should be preparing to play in one of the
best tournaments of the year in vancouver next weekend...

unless you have decided that you don't stand a chance, or you don't want
to go to nationals (i'm sure the rest of your team does), then i'll be
sure to sit in front of the computer next weekend and have afternoon tea
with you on RSD

or are you just jealous of ben's chances of winning callahan over you?
if you want to win callahan so badly, post by your real name and i'll
vote for you, after all, you talk dumb and meaningless shit on RSD, and
that gets you my vote that was going to ben

dear bamboo,

--small aside: what is with all the nicknames in sd, you know, are you
guys, like, the most spirited school or something?--

anyway, speaking of wasting time on rsd, who the hell are you judge?

so that brings me to the callahan chappiness. i've got nothing but
respect for ben and he knows all this rsd campaigning for most popular
college player is pure crap. giving away shoes, patting you on the
ass, and wearing one sock high and an upside-down visor is just his
way of saying "i'm better than you are." which he is.

BUT, as a fellow bud mentioned at practice the other day, why not
Scobel Wiggins for callahan? she has brought more attention to this
sport than all previous callahan winners combined--men and women.

-SCOBEL FOR CALLAHAN-
-SCOBEL FOR CALLAHAN-
-SCOBEL FOR CALLAHAN-

you heard it here first folks.

and before i go, lil' bamboozer, you finished with this diddy:

geez, i'm sorry, i forgot to NOTE sarcasm, i guess it doesn't work too
well on rsd, so let me say it straight, you attacked us for NO reason,
and it only makes you dumb, and for you to read my jibberish on rsd
makes you dumb, so stop being dumb.

Good lord it's a good thing you've never seen me run!
Everything important I know about Ultimate I've learned from Ben:
1) Look out for Grammas in folding chairs on the sidelines-- one of
them is going to get clobbered one day.
2) Alway take pictures of women because the LAST thing you want is
pissed-off Ultimate women.
3) Everyone on the sidelines has paid a price in blood, sweat and
soul to be there-- respect that.
If my photos work, it's because of the last one. Thanks Ben.

i notice my testimonial has been used on the ben for callahan site.
Pete Rose don't give away autographs, and neither does luke smith.
I'll give ben 1:3 odds, but I want a dollar.
