Dayton Enigma - Open Club in Western Ohio

driving distance to Dayton, OH, Summer 2008 will mark the start of
Dayton's first ever Open Club team.
With the recent successes of many Ohio college programs, and their
locational Club counterparts, i.e., Ohio State (Madcow) and Miami (OH)
(Hustle), the city, and University, of Dayton (Enigma) is looking to
sink its teeth into the aggressive Club Ultimate scene.
If you are currently an
*athletic and aggressive current college player
- or -
*up and coming high school player
that's looking to elevate their game, Dayton Enigma could be perfect
for you! The team is looking to advance the experience and skill
levels of a wealth of talented players. Dayton, now more than ever,
is primed for a Club team with a host of outstanding young talent in
Dayton (Ghetto Force), Ohio State (LeadBelly), Miami (OH) (the
Boogiemen), and not to forget the fast growing high school programs
like Lakota Ultimate. So if you're a well experienced college player
or you're just now looking to play college Ultimate, and you're
dedicated to improving you're game, Dayton Enigma is interested in
you!
The teams goals are to get its players in a number of summer
tournaments, afford players an extensive amount of on-field time, and
a chance to play at an elite Club Open level. The hope is that every
member of the team will walk away from the Club season a more
experienced, well rounded, and aggressive Ultimate player. Similarly,
the team is looking to draw players for many different teams, areas,
and programs. Thus, it should be an awesome opportunity to meet more
people in the growing Ohio Ultimate scene, which always makes summer
more enjoyable!

*** Tuesday May 13th - The University of Dayton, Stuart Field,
6:30 - 9:00 pm ***
-This will be an open practice to anyone interested in the team, the
squad will run drills, sprints, and scrimmage. It will be a great
time to meet new players, learn more about the team, and show off your
skills.

Not only has the interest from the Dayton area been outstanding,
people from all over (well beyond the midwest) are expressing interest
in coming out and seeing what Enigma is all about. Again, if you're

Also, one of the consistent questions has been, what tournaments is
the squad planning on playing in?
This is a great questions, as it helps identify where the team will
likely be traveling, who we'll be competing with, and the like.
Although things will be set in stone with the team later this month,
tentitively, the squad is very interested in the following
tournaments:
No Surf - Cleveland, OH, June 21st-22nd
Hoosier Hodown - Bloomington, IN, July 12th-13th
Heavyweights - Chicago, IL, TBD
*Likely at least one more regional tournament*
Club Series
Sectionals - TBD
Regionals - TBD
