I wish there were better and more organized resources online so I can
find what I'm looking for quickly and efficiently.

Anyone else like me? Do you want to watch the EIGHT best
SPRING WILMINGTON 8's games* live on the web?
I'd pay $5.00-$10.00 to see that! How much would you pay?
*The weekend that the top 8 college teams, attending
Wilmington 8's, play.

more people knew the rules.
2. making a living coaching ultimate
3. Also, would be cool to participate in a reffed open
division club tourney. gets old playing in a "national
championship" where people get to call it how they like.
it's bush league. let the players do what they do best:
play.
damn, those are three awesome wishes. too bad I am on the
naughty list.

mines coming true.....thanks to the oua. cant wait to see how those
upa kooks come to terms with observers making active calls that are
subjective in nature at 2010 college nationals.........which,
ACCORDING TO THEM, is what distiguishes an evil ref form an observer.
kinda telling that no one wished for sotg to be preserved forever. on
the contrary, most are wishing for the sport to evolve out of it
"preservationissts" state.
another wish i have is that the people that actually WANT to see refs
in the sport take on a more active role in making that happen.
Start recruiting more players NOW! And, starting coaching
them indoors (if possible).

I wish I wasn't this old and hadn't beat the shit out of my body quite
so much so I so I could still play club.
1) That somebody would pick Ulticritic up by the ankles and
use him to beat Crazy Frank to death.
2) That Poulos wouldn't act like he wasn't one of the guys
making sleazy calls.
J. Invencio
does anyone out their know what the rough budget for shooting two days
worth of a live feed would be?
Toad, give me a call when you have a chance.

*One endzone camera and one sideline camera.
**Toad, you want to call the games? :)
Ilk69 who you be? you play with anybody? where you witness
my "sleazy" calls? I am curious because I can't remember
making any in awhile. It's called enjoying playing physical
and wishing others would do the same. gotta go get stronger
just in case we are allowed to push and shove a little out
there!
He comes from North Carolina and went to college in Florida, right?
(because every man needs least a little bit of hair down there ! )

i wish the UPA wouldn't waste the paper it takes to send me a snail
mail reminder to renew my UPA membership next year.
if you are going to send me a reminder, do it online. i'm going to
ignore it anyway, so at least we can save the paper.
yea....take a tip from bob dylan and go electric already........think
of all our money theyde save too
i dunno, i kinda have the voice of an old burnout so.........I'd
probably tune in and watch though.......

let the game be
> physical. that is why I love having Mike G, Troy Revell, and
> Jason Weddle observing games because they let the players
> play.
what do you mean by this. i mean, do they have any other choice?
they have NO control over what the players call so the dont really
"let" them do anything..........the players "let themselves play" no?
granted they do expidite referals in a much more efficient manner but
i fail to see how they allow or restrict their physicality. Now if ya
make em full on refs then YEA, the refs can control that but even mike
will tell you there is a ton of downfield contact that he would be
obligated to rule as fouls that the players let go. But its obviously
when things get heated and chippy that will wreeck havock on such a
"player controled" system.
and steve, i'm still up to lend a hand with trying to organize a
reffed college event. how about you? I mean, shit, if we are the
only ones actively callin for refs here then shouldnt we do somthing
to help bring about that end. and me, being completely out of the
sceene, theres only so much i can do. You got the connections. hook
it up. have whistle, will travel.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
---you've got no idea then.....
how could i have no idea when i witnessed it myself? are you trying
to say you have control over a player making a bogus call....or an
overtly aggreesive foul(to stop flow). You might be a deterant to a
"tit for tat" scenerio that can easily escilate with no officials but
you are still a secondary mechanism when it comes to tactical fouls
and calls. traveling you can control....i suceed to that. by "you" i
mean uoa comp......not upa comp (as of yet anyways).
its not about sotg at all....its more about making a distinction
between the traditional observer role in ultimate, that of the newly
refined uoa officials and a fully active "referee". how do you get
sotg out of that?
While not nearly as high quality as the feed from Club Nationals this
year, you can find someone who has a high end smartphone and broadcast
the game live using either Qik or Ustream. If you find someone with a
Motorola Droid, the resolution is the same as a DVD.
Did you ever make lousy calls on purpose like the guy suggested? If
so, have you stopped making lousy calls on purpose?
